Biography
Kirsan Nikolaevich Ilyumzhinov - Politician, a well-known businessman, Ex-head of the Republic of Kalmykia and the President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). On April 5, 1962, in the historic city of Elista, Nikolai Dorzhinovich and his wife Rimma Alekseevna, a boy was born early in the morning, which was called Kirsan.
The entrepreneur often recalled that after his birth between relatives there was a conflict. A stumbling block was the fact that in the family for a long time could not decide which name to give the child. Nikolai Dorzhinovich insisted that the son should be called in honor of his uncle Kirsan Ilyumzhinova, who distinguished himself during the Civil War, and the Grandma of the Future Politics dreamed that her grandson would call the same as her father - Badm. According to the Kalmyk tradition, the last word remained behind the head of the family, but because of the female principle, the grandmother called the boy with the name of Badma until the first class.
The young man, along with its brothers, grew in the average exemplary model: his father, education engineer, was in the position of party employee. Kirsan's mother worked as a veterinarian, brought up children, and in his free time he was keen on the breeding of flowers (politician told in his autobiography that the Flower Garden of Alekseevna really liked the Patriarch Alexy, who had been visiting Ilyumzhin).
Ilyumzhinov grew in an inquisitive child, reading books he often preferred active games in the fresh air with yard boys. It is known that Kirsan's favorite work was the autobiographical Roman Nikolai Ostrovsky "How Steel was tempered". Chess
Kirsan's gymnastics began to study since childhood. Ilyumzhinov like Harry Kasparov manipulated sixteen figures on the checkered board and fought the opponents by faster shames and children's mats. Therefore, it is not surprising that, being a 15-year-old teenager, Ilyumzhinov led the adult team of Kalmykia in Chess.
In the fall of 1995, Kirsan first occupied the presidency of the International Chess Federation (FIDE). According to Ilyumzhinov, going to France to FIDE Congress, he did not suspect that he would become the head of the sports organization. Politics
In 1983, Kirsan Nikolaevich joined the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. In 1995, Ilyumzhinov was re-elected for the post of head of the government ahead of schedule. The second term was delayed for 7 years, until 2002 (in 2002 Kirsan Nikolaevich again won the presidential races).
It is noteworthy that in the fall of 1998, Ilyumzhinov made a number of statements, judging by which the disconnection of Kalmykia from the Russian Federation was assumed (due to the non-treatment of funds from the Russian treasury). Therefore, the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation was inspected relative to Ilyumzhinov.
In 2005, Vladimir Putin appointed Ilyumzhinov, who in 2004 became a member of the United Russia, the head of the Republic of Kalmykia for a period of 5 years. In September 2010, Kirsan Nikolaevich, following the policy of rejuvenation, stated that he did not intend to run for this position for the fifth time. Alexey Orlov became the successor of Ilyumzhinov, nominated by President Dmitry Medvedev.
Personal life
Vanga predictions are not the last mystical cases in the life of the Kalmyk entrepreneur. In 2001, speaking on Radio "Freedom", politician made a sensational statement: according to Kirsan, on September 18, 1997, he visited an intergalactic ship with aliens.
As for the family, with the first spouse Danara Davashkin Kirsan met in school.
