The biography of the singer with an unusual name and surname began on August 12, 1969 in the city of Münster, located in the North Rhine Westphalia. After the birth of the girl, which Mother Roani, Malaysika by nationality, called Tanita, the family of the Indian-Fijian military manifold Tikarama lived for some time in Germany, and then moved to England and settled near Southampton, located in the southeastern district of Hampshire.
Enrolling in the prestigious school of county, Tanit and her elder brother Ramon experienced pressure from a preferred society, because they inherited the exotic features of the parents and were not like typical inhabitants of Great Britain. After the concerts held in 20 countries of the world, the album received a number of gold and platinum certificates and won the first lines in the charts of four European states. Tanita, who experienced uncertainty in his own talent, was able to reveal the hidden capabilities and through music to convey internal experiences and deep philosophical views through the music.
Having received 2 nominations for the prestigious National Prize of the United Kingdom, Tikaram continued to work in the studio and one after another released three high-quality and successful albums.
Despite the fact that Eleven Kinds of Lonelines did not reach the peak of popularity and limited himself to the only single "You Make the Whole World Cry", the plates "The Sweet Keeper" and "Everybody's Angel" entered British charts. A disappointed failure, Tanita left the scene for several years and did not give an interview to any publication or music channel. Only in 2005 the singer interrupted silence and on the French recording studio released a synthetic album called "Sentimental".
And although this novelty discography did not bring commercial success, thanks to the ballad "Don't Let The Cold", recorded by a duet with a new-wave vocalist Nick Lowe, the singer was pleased with the work done and decided to release another electronic album. However, in the process of preparing the material, difficulties with studio and producers arose, and the new record saw the light only in 2012.
The CAN't Go Back disk, which was to become an embodiment of the new singer's worldview, was created in collaboration with a long-time familiar guitarist Mark Kresser and was published by special circulation, supplemented by acoustic versions of the most popular tanitis songs.
