Over the years of the existence, the participants of the Hooverphonic team tried different sound and genres, but the backbone of their composition never changed. Artists conquered students with high-quality music and love for experiments, which allowed them to submit to Belgium at the Eurovision contest.The history of creation and composition
The history of the creation of a collective takes the beginning since 1995 in Flanders, Belgium. Attokov stood bassist Alex Callea, Guitarist Raymond Gez, Keyman Frank Dushan and Vocalist Esther Libert. The latter dropped shortly before the signing of the contract with Sony Music in 1996 and was replaced by Leshe Sadonius. In subsequent years, the leading soloist repeatedly changed, also 3 years after the formation, Dushan went, and the quartet turned into a trio.
Initially, the group was called Hoover, the idea arose thanks to the friend of musicians, who called their work as tightening like a vacuum cleaner. But the solution led to the scandal with the same name of the vacuum cleaner, which had to add the PHONIC ending in urgency.

The musicians began to create in the trip-hop genre and became famous after the release of the first single 2Wicky, which came to the Soundtracks list to the picture "Extralling Beauty". In subsequent years, he was repeatedly used in the cinema, sounded in the "eternal midnight" and "interview". Success inspired artists to release the Debut Album a New Stereophonic Sound Specular, which appeared on store shelves in 1996 and was warmly met by Belgian listeners.Participants went on tour in support of the release, at the height of which Sudonius was left. She was replaced by a young vocalist Geeke Arnart, together with which the band finished work on the album Blue Wonder Power Milk, who fell into the TOP-10 Belgian National Chart. Single Eden later was used in the horror movie "I know what you have done last summer." And Club Montepulciano sounded in advertising Volkswagen Vapor Beetle.
The Magnificent Tree record The musicians recorded already as a trio. Release allowed them to declare themselves in the international arena, being in the French chart. In Belgium, the album rose to the 2nd line in the ranking and in sales received double platinum certification.
The track-leaf of the collection entered the song Mad ABout You, which became a Hooverphonic business card. The clip to the composition was released in two versions, each of which scored more than 1 million views on the Yutiuba channel.
2002 was marked by the output of the conceptual plate Presents Jackie Cane. According to Alex Call in the album, the development of the relationship between the sisters is a successful singer and housewives. The result of the history of the cookie: both girls die. For this work, the artists were awarded Zamu awards as the best group.

The search for a new vocalist was stretched for long 2 years, during which the remaining musicians did not produce new tracks. In 2010, Naemi Wolfs joined them, the result of cooperation with which they became the Night Before and Reflection plates. The latter headed the Chart Belgium.
The girl performed with a team of 5 years, but went shortly before the release of the Badaboum song. With her participation was recorded a living album Hooverphonic with Orchestra Live. The collection, recorded with the orchestra in Koningin Elisabethzaal, entered 17 tracks, including Vinegar & Salt, Mad About You, etc.

The next plate of Calle and Gert was recorded with the participation of invited performers and managed to conquer the hearts of the Belgian and Dutch listeners. Because of the pandemic, the competition was canceled. As part of the broadcast, all participants have remotely performed the song Love Shine A Light, which was to symbolize the unity of Europe in the fight against difficulties. Hooverphonic team did not participate in the project. Alex Callee explained this decision to the fact that the composition of the composition does not solve global problems and is not even charity.
Hooverphonic now
Now the team members continue to create, glad the fans with new tracks. They lead the official website, pages in Twitter and Instagram, where they talk about achievements and shared photos.
In March 2021, it was announced a decision to maintain the right of participation in Eurovision-2021 for Hooverphonic. Under the terms of the competition, the participants of the 2020 can perform this year, but with a new song.
The group chose The Wrong Place, the authors of which are the bassist of the team Alex Calle and Charlotte Fore. The composition was written under the influence of the music of Johnny Cash, which sounded from the radio. Musicians jokingly set themselves the task to include the name of the Country Artist's name. So the whole song is built around the phrase "Do not dare to wear my T-shirt with Johnny Cash."
This track enters the new album of the team called Hidden Stories, which Hooverphonic introduced on May 7. The record was recorded with the participation of ArnArt Geek, who returned to the team and replaced the hatch of Krehensbergs.
Musicians have a tight touring schedule in a tour of the cities of the EU and Turkey.
