Ray was born in 1977 in the American town of Kernie, New Jersey. The atmosphere in which the child was grew was far from prosperous: in blocks where the musician's childhood passed, street murders became an ordinary business, and among the neighbors often came across drug dealers. Parents, as they could, protected children from evil influence. The world of music, to whom the elder brother joined him was helped not in contact with Toro's mud.

The musician is happy in a personal life. In the fall of 2008, Ray married his beloved Friend Crista, and on December 16, 2012, the guitarist became a father. The birth of the Son coincided with the period when My Chemical Romance decided to suspend activities. Despite attachment to the group, Toro felt joy and relief, because, having free from work, was able to fully focus on the family.Ray has become enjoyed to spend time with his wife and engage in raising a child.
