Illustrator and cartoonist was born in the fall of 1935 in the USSR capital in the family of architects. In childhood, Victor in accordance with the surname received the nicknamed Chizhik-Pyzhik, with whom he did not part until recent days. With the beginning of the war, the head of the family of Chizhikov - the teacher of the department "Planning cities and settlements" of the Moscow Architectural Institute - mobilized, and Vitu and Mother had evacuated to the Ulyanovsk region.
Back in school, Victor began to draw caricatures and cartoons: the boy inspired the example of his father who accompanied the letter from the front drawings, the photos of which were preserved in Chizhikov's archive. After returning to Moscow, a young caricaturist was presented to Kukryniksam. Mikhail Kupriyanov approved the pictures of the teenager and advised Vita tie a biography with drawing.

Personal life
With the future wife Zinaida Sergeyev, Viktor Alexandrovich studied in the same group in the university. In 2008, the personal life of Chizhikov shocked a terrible tragedy: at the age of 44, the son of artists, named after Grandfather Alexander and the parents departed in the footsteps.The strong friendship tied Viktor Aleksandrovich with his colleagues Vladimir Perstemov, Veniamin Losina and Evgeny Monina. On the 50th anniversary, friends gave Chizhikov a group portrait, on which the jubilee appeared in the form of D'Artagnan, and the Trinity of Friends - in the form of three musketeers. In an interview, Chizhikov regularly asked about Vladimir Vysotsky. Illustrator and bard were not friends, but from 1975 to the death of "National Volodya" lived in the same house on a small Georgian street. According to Chizhikov, Vysotsky as a neighbor was modest and delicate, but for recurrent rudeness and panibrates could beat the lid from the pasta tank.
Creation
While still a student, Victor began to cooperate with the journals "Crocodile" and "funny pictures". Later, "Murzilka", "Pioneer", "Young Naturalist" and "Around Light" joined the number of editions publishing the drawings of Chizhikov. In 1968, the cover drawn by Viktor Aleksandrovich for the June issue "Pioneer" was recognized as readers for the year.
In 1960, the artist first illustrated the children's book. The "first-mention" of Chizhikov-Illustrator was the collection of the stories of Viktor Dragunsky "Mystery of the Children's Stroller". Viktor Aleksandrovich not only drew the heroes of the works of Sergey Mikhalkov and Eduard Asspensky, Gianni Rodari and Alexander Volkov, but also became the author of the books-pictures "About the girl Masha and Doll Natasha" and "Peter and Potap".

But the artist was asked to paint out their illustrations, and the charm had lost the charm of monochrome.
In the zero years of the XXI century, Viktor Alexandrovich published a series of black and white cartople "Great for parties", in which young William Shakespeare teachers scold for the fact that he does not sign the writings, and Nikolai Lobachevsky - for the inability to draw two parallel straight on the board. Another series of Chizhikov engravings is the selection of "Cats of Great People." In January 2020, the artist took part in the exhibition dedicated to the memory of Edward Uspensky, which opened at the Museum of Russian Literature named after Vladimir Dalya. In February 2020, the action "Given books with love" started. Viktor Aleksandrovich handed the selection of editions with his illustrations to the library of the village of Cross-Gorodishche, where he spent 3 years with his mother in evacuation. Death
On July 20, 2020, Viktor Chizhikov died at the age of 84. This was reported on its page in social networks AST Children's Publishing House.
