In 2002, Shipulin came under the leadership of the experienced mentor Mikhail Novikov, who collaborated at that time with Svetlana Slepts, and began to train in Khanty-Mansiysk. This event was decisive in the life of an athlete.
In 2004, the guy graduated from the 11th grade of the Tyumen secondary school. After that, obeying the wishes of the parents, and also guided by an example of Nastya's older sister (which, by the way, became the Olympic champion of Vancouver in Biathlon from Slovakia), he entered the Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Tyumen.
Study in the university was not the easiest time in the life of an athlete. The fact that, in addition to study, the student is seriously engaged in biathlon, did not contribute to the loyalty of teachers who demanded knowledge, and not awards. Therefore, he had to rewrite the nights to the abstracts and lectures, learn the rules of law, and in the afternoon to train to exhaustion. But afterwards the athlete did not regret what so much information had to teach.
During training at the University, Anton participated in junior competitions from Khanty-Mansiysk, where he was noticed in 2006 by the Vladimir Putrov coach. At the invitation of a famous specialist, he moved to Yekaterinburg, where he lives today.
Since then, the sports biography of Anton Shipulin has reached a new round. 2006 brought him the first serious successes in his career - at the World Championships, the biathlete won gold in the relay. In January 2018, on the eve of the Olympic Games, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not allow Shipulin to participate in Games in Pytenchhan. The next day after the release of the report, it became known that Anton was ill mononucleosis. This infectious disease is often found in athletes and bears unpleasant consequences - affects the internal organs and leads to a change in blood composition. The virus, once settled in the body, remains there forever.
The coach of the Russian biathlete, Andrei Kryuchkov, said that mononucleosis itself is dangerous only during the acute phase, at this time the workout ceased. There was no speech about the complete refusal of them, and there were no medical prohibitions for it. The mentor believes that mononucleosis is not the reason for the abandon from the sports career.
Anton gave the word fans to tell about the decision before the start of the season. Back in September 2018, Shipulin admitted that the last season was the worst in the sports career. Along with sports, the champion decided to try himself in politics. In September 2019, Sipulin participated in the elections to the State Duma in the Sverdlovsk region in Ekaterinburg.
