Childhood and youth
Jacob Fak was born in the city of Rijeka, Yugoslavia (current Croatia), August 1, 1987. Biathlon
Robert Petrovich became the first professional coach athlete. In 2001, Yakov became part of the national team of the Biathlon of the Republic of Croatia. And already one year later, Yakov took part in the World Biathlon Championship among young men, which was held in Italy. In these competitions, the young man took 64th place in the sprint, which became its best resulting.
Jacob continued to work hard on himself, thanks to which he entered the top ten at the World Championships in 2008. In 2006, Jacob Fava first performed in the World Cup in Biathlon. Then the novice athlete took only 107th place in the international race. Next year, Yakov took 47th place in the Cup, which was held at the homeland athlete in Croatia. In the same year, Yakov showed not the best results at the World Biathlon Championship, taking 78 and 93 places in the ratings on the sprint and individual race, respectively.
But already next season, the Croatian biathlete has significantly increased results up to 47 and 38 seats in the sprint and individual race, and at competitions in Austria finished 16. In 2010, he finished 24. Without justifying the hopes of fans, Jacob himself was upset. Nevertheless, at the Olympics in the same 2010, Yakov again took bronze, surprisingly the public.
In the summer of 2010, it became known that the famous athlete from Croatia changed citizenship to continue to speak. Considering that the fact was born in Yugoslavia, which united these countries, the change of citizenship did not become critical for him. Yakov in an interview emphasizes that the transition to the citizenship of Slovenia has a positive effect on the sports training of biathlete, which provided him with a high level of internal competition. World Cup 2010-2011, held in the United States, was marked by abnormally low temperatures. As a result of performances, Yakov received a professional injury. Doctors stated the frostbite of the third degree of index finger athlete. He was predicted for necrosis and subsequent amputation of the finger, which meant the end of the sports career of Faka.

For a whole year, Jacob went to restore after injury, and already in 2012 he represented Slovenia at the World Biathlon Championship. In a mixed relay, Slovenians crossed the finish line by 8.2 seconds earlier than athletes from Norway, but the silver medals of the athletes were divided among themselves. But after two days, Yakov won in an individual race. So Slovenia first received the Gold Medal at the Biathlon World Championships.
Personal life
Free from training Time Yakov holds houses in the society of his beloved wife Matea Korenyich and the long-awaited daughter Mia. Matea is a civilian spouse Yakov - officially biathlete single.
The autumn in the morning of Yakov went to the planned training session, where he was bitten by the OSA behind the lip, the entire face of the athlete was swollen.
