However, he soon caught up with a partner and paired with Elena three times won gold medals at the World Junior Championships.In the "adult" group Evgeny, nevertheless, switched with the new partner Larisa Fedorinov. With her, successes were not so outstanding - the guys did not rise above the 4th place at the USSR Championships.
In 1989, a turning point had happened in the sports biography of the young man - he was put in a couple with Oksana Grischuk. It was not easy to work with the girl, she was distinguished by tremendous hardworking and complex character. However, the successes of the pair were undoubted, and young figure skaters began to prepare for the 1994 Olympic Games in Lillehammer.
At first, their coach was Natalia Dubova, but shortly before the competition Evgeny and Oksana moved to Natalia Lynchuk. And the initial reason for such a permutation was the conflict of Oksana and Natalia - the coach eventually kicked the figure skater from the team.
Evgeny some time hesitated and even got a couple with Tatiana Navka, but then under pressure from the former partner senses and again began to ride Oksana again. Under the leadership of Lynchuk, athletes had to change and music, and the program, but the difficulties of preparation paid off - the incendiary "Rock Around The Clock" brought the Olympic gold skaters.
To the next Olympiad, it was harder to prepare, and in the end, Oksana and Eugene again changed the coach - after Natalia Lynchuk, Tatyana Tarasova became working with them, who gave the world not one Olympic champion. Personal life
