Biography

The history of the creation of Fear Factory began in 1989, in the 2019th group marks 40 years. All this time, the musicians had a significant impact on the Hebi-metal scene, remained the flagship of the American New, Deat, Groove and Tresh Metal. True, since the release of the album "Genexus" in 2015, Fear Factory went underground. Now they do not give concerts, there are no news and new records.

The history of creation and composition

Fear Factory formed in 1989 in Los Angeles, California, like ulceration. A year later, the musicians changed the name on Fear The Factory in honor of the plant, which stood next to their rehearsal base and was guarded by people with guns. The group reduced the name to Fear Factory.

Attokov stood guitarist Dino Casares and drummer Raymond Errera. They were complemented by the bassist Dave Miscellen and Vocalist Burton Christopher Bell. Since then, the composition Fear Factory has repeatedly changed, only Bell and Casares remained.

Music

The Debut Album "Soul Of A New Machine" came out in 1992. Debut it is formal: "Concrete" (2002) is recorded earlier - in 1991. Then the producer Ross Robinson worked with Fear Factory.

The group did not like the terms of the contract, which connected them with Robinson, so the guys refused to produce "Concrete". They left the right to music, overwriting some songs at Soul Of A New Machine. Later Robinson without coordination with the performers presented "Concrete".

"Soul Of A New Machine" made Fear Factory known on the music scene. The album is distinguished by the industrial sound of the Dat-Metal, which combines the thunder-like tools of Errera, the rhythmic samples of Casareas, sharp and melodious Bell vocals. To promote an album, Fear Factory wheelchair with other metal groups: Biohazard, Sepultura, Sick of IT All, Cannibal Corpse. As a result, "Soul Of A New Machine" did not turn loudly, but many fans consider this album as the best in the work of Fear Factory.

In June 1995, the DEMANUFACTURE disk. Kerrang magazine! He appreciated him to the maximum 5 stars, he also got into the top 10 Billboard Heatseekers, and the clip on the song "Replica" was included in the Test Drive-5 video game. This turned out to be enough for Fear Factory to start inviting on some platforms with Metal Matrah: Black Sabbath, Megadeth and Iron Maiden.

To release Obsolete album (1998) earlier, the group abandoned performances on a number of festivals. The plate presents the progressive metal, such a sound was achieved largely due to the use of 7-string guitars.

Obsolete is translated as "outdated". If the plate "Soul of a New Machine" examined the theme of the confrontation of a person and the mechanism, then this album is about the future, in which a person feels obsolete compared to modern technologies. Obsolete has become the most-selling disc Fear Factory, still the only one who became gold in the USA.

Feeling success, Roadrunner Records decided to extract the maximum benefit from the group. They pressed on musicians, forcing me to recorder previously provided for by the terms of the deadlines.

In 2001, Metalist released "Digimortal". The album entered the TOP-40 USA, Top 20 Canada, Top 10 Australia. But his commercial success left much to be desired. In March 2002, the final crisis was occurring - Bell announced the care of Fear Factory. A group, no failure to exist without a leader, broke up.

In 2004, ARCHETYPE album was recorded in the new composition. The team returned to industrial sound, but raised new themes for themselves - religion, war, corporatism. They are continued in the album "Transgression" (2005). At the same time, Fear Factory went to a large-scale tour dedicated to his 15th anniversary, and after again broke up.

After reunification in 2009, Fear Factory released "Mechanize" (2010), "The Industrialist" (2012) and "Genexus" (2015). Releases were accompanied by legal proceedings between participants.

Fear Factory now

In 2017, one of the musicians of the group published an empty photo in "Instagram" (now removed), under which it was reported that the Fear Factory was again broken. Casares denied the application.

Since May 2017, Fear Factory promises to release an album called "Monolith". Perhaps the release is delayed due to the incessant skins between the ex-participating in Christian Olde Volber and Bella with Casares.

Volbers wants to reunite the original composition, argues that for the group "there is nothing better than to reconcile disagreements and write a murderous record." In the meantime, there are no new albums in the Fear Factory discography.
