Biography

The Swedish group Arch Enemy is called manufacturers of high-quality Scandinavian metal. By the time of the collective creation, each of the musicians had already had sufficient experience of performances on the stage, and therefore the team did not have to come up with something new to get recognition. They had some fans already, but to attract new things became only a "business of technology".

The history of creation and composition

The history of Arch Enemy began in 1996 and is inextricably linked with Musician Michael Emotet. He was born in London in 1969, from childhood he was fond of music. His career began in 1983 with Disaccord, where he stayed the year, then left, but in 1986 he joined the team again and spoke to them until 1988.

Then he played the guitar with the guys from Carnage (where, by the way, was also one of the founders), and in 1990 replenished the ranks of the British metal group Carcass. After leaving from there in 1993, the musician creates his own Spiritual Beggars team and completely immersed in the retrograde stonner rock.

Emott did not plan to create a new group, as he worked in his own project Spiritual Beggars. But after recording 2 albums with him, the Wrong Again Records label, which offers the musician to record a drive in the style of his last work in Carcass. He agrees and proceeds to finding the rest of the team.

First of all, the guitarist is associated with a former colleague - vocalist and bassist Yuhan Liuva. Prior to that, he performed as part of Carnage with Michael, and was also the founder of Furbowl, but left from there in 1990 before the release of the debut album.

The third part of Arch Enemy entered the brother Michael Christopher, who became the only inexperienced musician, because until that moment did not appear on a professional stage, but only he learned the guitar game in a music school. Daniel Herlandsson drummer took as a session musician.

Two more participants of Emotet invited after unexpectedly arising popularity of the group, before the conclusion of the contract with the Japanese label. Then Dr. Peter Vildur and Bass Gitarist Martin Bengtsson joined them. The latter stayed in the team for a short time, in 1999 he was replaced by Charlie d'Ngelo, and Daniel Erlandsson came to Arch Enemy already on an ongoing basis instead of Wilder.

After releasing the first three albums, the group had already had its own recognizable image. According to Emott, Jukhan's vocalist could no longer be a group of group, they needed a more dynamic frontman. And because Michael asks Ligo to leave the team. In his place, the leader immediately found a replacement, she became a German journalist-amateur, and part-time and death-vocalist Angela of the Gosov.

A little earlier, the girl had already met Christopher to take an interview, and at the same time he handed over to a man demo-recording her own songs. She liked not only by the founder of the team, admirers Arch Enemy accepted her heat. Yuhan also did not go idle, first the guy gathered the nonexist's music team, and then Hearse, in which he finally remained.

Since the records of songs and endless tour took a lot of time from artists, in 2005 Christopher decides to leave the team and is engaged in a personal life. In his place, the Gas Gas Ji guitarist was temporarily taken, and after a while on an ongoing basis in Arch Enemy, Fredrik Ossress came. But during the recording of the 7th album, the Group officially announces the return of Christopher.

Another replacement of the participants took place in 2014. Gosses announce the end of the musical career and immersed in the management and commercial promotion of the group. And another vocalist Alissa White-eye comes to her place.

Previously, the girl performed in the Canadian melodic-death metal collective, and therefore had the experience of public speeches and felt comfortable under the views of a crowd. She quickly joined the team and was able to decently replace the last vocalist.

Six months after this event during the tour from Arch Enemy, guitarist Nick Cordl is outgoing, which in 2012 replaced the newly abandoned collective Christopher. It was a surprise for everyone, he quickly found a temporary replacement (it was Emott Jr., who asked for help), and then Jeff Lumis joined them on an ongoing basis.

Music

The first album at Arch Enemy appeared almost immediately after the basis of the group. The Black Earth disk was created under a contract with Wrong Again Records, and after his release, Emott did not plan to record songs on, counting a group to a one-time project. However, the composition "Bury Me An Angel" unexpectedly for everyone became a hit and conquered the hearts of millions of Japanese listeners, regularly spinning at the local MTV.

Seeing such a demand for the creation of a group, a record company from Japan Toy's Factory offers a contract to conclude a contract. And although Michael did not plan to go with Arch Enemy on one album, he still accepts their proposal. And already in an updated composition (with a new drummer and bassist), the team is sent on tour in the cities of the country of the rising sun.

If earlier Arch Enemy songs listened to Sweden and Japan, then after the release in 1998, the second full-length album "Stigmata" the musicians won the attention of a broader public. Now they knew them in the USA and Europe. In Japan, they still collaborated with Toy's Factory, and in North America, the label of Century Media Records was engaged in promotion.

After making changes in the composition, in 1999, the team presents the third album "Burning Bridgees", in his support, the musicians again staged performances in Japanese cities and immediately released a concerter Burning Japan Live 1999.

At first, only residents of Japan could acquire it, but on the numerous requests of fans of the disk began to sell in other countries. This plate has become a kind of milestone in their creative development, she radically changed her sound. At the same time, the music genre remained the same and even retained the brutal severity inherent in the first two albums.

The new disk "Wages of SIN" is recorded with the participation of a new soloist. The presentation took place at the end of 2001. Almost immediately, the musicians participate in the concert in Japan and appear on the same stage with such teams as Motorhead and Slayer. And then in their discography, another plate "Anthems of Rebellion" appears, it became the only one, where net backing vocals applied, these parties performed Emott.

A little later on the song "We Will Rise" withdrew the video, to work on him the group involved director George Bravo. The video captured the legion of people who flew along the shore under the dark sky.

In 2004, Arch Enemy fans again waited a small surprise. Since the full-format plate during this time they were not released, the artists decided to record a mini-disk with Cavalemi on the MANOWAR, Megadeth and Carcass composition, and also put songs from concerts. Only a year later, the musicians pleased the fans of the 6th plate "Doomsday Machine". And although it helped them in this popular label Century Media Records, all the texts for the songs wrote the Soviet itself, and the Music was composed by the brothers Emott and Herlanderson.

In 2007, Arch Enemy is a fan of the Album "Rise of The Tyrant", work on it began in 2005 and passed non-standard. At first, Erlandsson recorded the drum parties, then the rhythm guitar and bass records appeared, and the states and sang texts were connected to the case.

Initially, fans reported only 3 songs, and then the album. Among other things, the listeners noted the song "Nemesis". The cover for the disk created the artist Niklas Sundin, unlike other artists, they prefer not to post their photos on the disk, and choose in favor of complex images.

To record the next album "Khaos Legions" Arch Enemy extended a contract with Century Media Records. They introduced the record to the listeners in May 2011. In addition to the main composition, the sound engineer Richard Bengtsson also participated in her work, which, according to musicians, created an inspiring and creative atmosphere, which was completely transmitted in new tracks. The design of the cover was developed by a professional artist, inspired by the picture "Freedom, the leading people".

The first album "War Eterna" with the voice of the new vocalist Alyssa White-eye was released in 2014. The "War Eternal" track became the most popular. Another disc called "Will to Power" appeared on the shelves of music stores in 2017, there were songs "The Eagle Flies Alone", "The World Is Yours" and "Reason To Believe" and a number of other compositions. No less listeners impressed the "No Gods, No Masters" track.

The Arch Enemy team and now continues to record songs, they are preparing for the release of a new album, and that fans do not forget the musicians, in January 2019, a collection of best compositions has been released.
