Andrei Pavlovich died suddenly in February 2006. The cause of death is stroke. 6 months before the death, the composer wrote a work "Farewell to ...". The composer is buried on the second in the prestigiousness of St. Petersburg - "Literal Mostkits" of the Volkovsky cemetery. The tombstone on the grave was performed by architect Vyacheslav Bukhaev, co-author of Chizhik-poultry on the fountain. The opening of the monument to Andrei Pavlovich took place on the birthday of the musician - September 2, 2007. On the same day, the first All-Russian composer competition was started, which since then takes place annually in St. Petersburg.

The memory of the author of melodic music is immortalized in the title of theatrical and concert hall of the Humanitarian University of Trade Unions, with whom a man collaborated. The name Andrei Petrov is named the garden, which arose in the Petrograd side on the site of the nameless Square, and a small planet.
