Alexey Nikolaevich Botian was born on February 10, 1917 in the village of Dyrovichi, located in the vicinity of Minsk, Belarus. An unusual last name has repeatedly introduced contemporaries to delusion about the nationality of the hero, who was considered to be an Armenian, Moldovan or Pole. But by birth, he is Belarusian, even though the name is actually Polish and in translated means "stork".
Shortly after the birth of the boy, the damns were recognized as the territory of Poland. Botyana's childhood was the same as most village boys. He worked in the garden, pass a home cattle and dreamed of a bicycle, which was submitted to the money. Lesha's father worked with a simple joiner, but often been on earnings in Argentina and Germany.
Despite the fact that the family was poor, Nikolay tried to give his son a decent education, he taught the German language. To send a boy to study at the pedagogical school, the parents had to sell a cow. The young man worked for a long time, because at 22 he was called on to the Polish army.
During the service in the anti-aircraft formation, Lesha managed to knock down three German aircraft, thanks to which he soon received the title of Capral. In that period, the guy did not care what he was Belarusian, but fighting for Poland, because the primary task was to protect his land and its inhabitants.
After the western regions of the state were engaged in the troops of the Soviet Army, Botian unexpectedly captured. The young man managed to escape and return to his native village. There he graduated from pedagogical courses, worked at the School of the village of Rovkovichi, until he was launched again.
Personal life
Personal life of a man deserves a separate page of the spy novel, because the marriage with the native of the Czech Republic, the Gelesh, almost cost him a career. Military Career
In 1940, Alexey became the object of increased attention of the NKVD bodies of the USSR, which included it in the personnel reserve. A young man who perfectly owned German and Polish, and also had the experience of handling weapons, could serve as the benefit of the Soviet Union.
Soon the guy was sent for training in an intelligence school. In those years, the war was in full swing, and Alexey, together with colleagues, rushed to the front, not wanting to stay aside. The first successful operation of the officer was the defense of Moscow and the subsequent stripping of the adjacent territories. In his youth, Botian was a tagged shooter, masterfully ran with Parabelloum.
Then the guy was sent to the West of Ukraine, where he managed to destroy the 4th floor of the GybitskySariat, located in Ovruch. As a result of the explosion, 80 officers of fascist Germany were killed. Soon the intelligence officer received a task to go to the surroundings of Krakow and destroy the Polish Governor General Hans Frank. Botian scored a group of 28 strong men and moved in the specified direction. On the road, he met with the fighters of the army of the people who asked to free their colleagues from prison in the city of Illzha.
The operation was carried out under the cover of the night, the subordinates of Alexey covered the fascists with machine-gun fire, while the Poles removed the sharpened partisans and replenished the reserves of provisions. After years, a monument to the liberators was established in the city in the city, where the name "Lieutenant Aleshi" was knocked down - so at that time they called the scout.
The most bright moment in the biography of the hero was the salvation of Polish Krakow. After capturing the Cartographic Sigmund of the Ogar, the Soviet military managed to learn about the plans of the German invaders to mince bridges and monuments of the city to provoke a breakthrough of dams and full flooding of the territory. This took place to prevent the legendary scout.
The original task of Alexei was not at all the preservation of architectural monuments, but to ensure the unimpeded penetration of the Red Army to the city. Therefore, when it became known that the stocks of explosives are stored in the Yagellon Castle, the man decided to undermine him. He found a Pole, which carried into a mini-low-speed building and helped implement a plan.
When the castle flew into the air, hundreds of Germans were killed under the wreckage, and the survivors were injured or tried to escape through the forest. But there they met the fighters from the Botyana squad, who finished opponents from firearms.
This feat was not over this feat. After the completion of the war, he continued to work in intelligence, served in Czechoslovakia, but most of the operations remained in the status of "secret". Only in 1983, Alexey Nikolaevich was retired, being in the rank of Colonel.
Death
After the death of his wife, health began to bring an officer, even though he had retained the clarity of the mind before the end of the days. The man died on February 13, 2020, 3 days after he turned 103 years old. The cause of the death of the hero, as many details of life, is not disclosed.
