In the first part, the character was drawn from Bruce Lee, including appearance and characteristic gestures, but later he decided to add individuality.

The surname Hero is sometimes pronounced Kang or Keng. In the X part, he gets a nickname dark emperor. According to the official description of the biography, Liu - the pupil of the Shaolinsky Monastery, after the early death of the parents, he spent everything childhood there. Noticing the talent of the boy to martial arts, Master Bo'rai Cho took up his preparation and taught everything that he knew himself, including a crown "flying blow." Cana prepared to professional fighters - he had to protect the honor of the monastery in the deadly battle.At the tournament, Kahn reached the final battle, in which he had to fight with the sinister mountain, holding the title of champion for five hundred years. The mighty opponent was only half a person - he belonged to the race of four grains of Holyholder Schokan, but Liu stood in the battle and knocked him out. After the final battle with the owner of the tournament, Shang Tzun Kata recognized the best fighter.
Enjoy the victory of the hero prevented the tragedy in his native monastery. Returning home, he discovered that all the monks were killed by mutants from the outside world, and some ruins remained from the buildings. Having collected the team from the warriors, Liu managed to take revenge on the offenders and get to the next tournament, where for the first time I met the future love - Princess Kitan.
On Earth Kahn became a teacher and began to prepare newcomers to replace the dead monks, but got involved in the next confrontation with Shao Kan and won it. In part of Deadly Alliance, Shang Zong wins Liu and absorbs his soul. In subsequent episodes, it returns in the form of a zombie (but if you wish the player, the option of returning any familiar appearance is available). The characteristic of the hero after death and the ability to fight at the same time do not change.

Liu is one of the strongest warriors of a series of games, which is not easy to find a worthy opponent. In battle, he is able to control the elements of fire, for example, run fiery balls and shells in the shape of dragons or burn enemies directed jet from the mouth.
Kahn owns 15 seeking receptions, which is more than other game characters. As a weapon, he prefers nunchaki. Being initially a positive hero, Liu Kahn is not endowed with cruelty. His techniques are entertaining, but less complex and bloody than other characters, so the passage of Mortal Kombat for Liu implies a low level of complexity. In the first part, it was implied that Kan does not finish opponents, because it is prohibited by the Chaolin Charter, but later he retreated from this rule.
At first, Liu was dressed only in black sports pants and shoes, and in the 2nd part of the Kan acquired distinctive signs on clothes - red stripes on the pants and a red bandage. In the subsequent episodes, his suit is changing - sleeveless, tapes, changing the length of the hair, but the common style remains unchanged. In the image of zombies, Kan retains the usual appearance, but its skin becomes ash-gray.
Initially, it was planned that Liu would be a bald, as it should be the Buddhist monk, but portrayed the character actor Pak Ho Son Syotrech refused to scream head. As a result, the hero turned out to be poured Bruce Lee. Another reference to the famous cinematic fighter is a characteristic gesture that Kang does after the victory, rubbing the nose with a thumb: exactly does it and in the films.
Liu Kan is the protagonist of 2 parts of the film "Deadly Battle", as well as the Animated Series of the same name. The character's description in them does not quite correspond to the canonical history of the hero: for example, the first tournament of Kahn is sent because of the sense of guilt and the desire to take revenge on the deceased brother, killed Shang Zun. In both parts, the role of Liu fulfilled the actor from Hong Kong Robin Shu. The phrases of the hero in the "Deadly Battle" say Ron Fineberg and Brian Sochi, and in the animated series he is voiced by Tom Choi.
At 2021, the release of a new film release of Mortal Kombat is scheduled, in which the fighter will play a young actor of the Chinese-Canadian origin Ludi Lin, a famous role in the series "Black Mirror".
