The history of the NOFX is originated from the mid-80s, when Eric Melvin and his friend Dillan, disappointed in the teams where they were then stayed, conceived to put their own team playing punk rock. And not such that wheel in local clubs or entertainment institutions and often remains no one, but "real" - with touring tours, concerts, discs, fans and full stadiums.
It was decided to attract the rest of the participants - Dillan led T-shirt Barpleta (the very fat Mike), while the experience of working in False Alarm, then the guys got acquainted with a kind of Steve. However, the first rehearsal was not asked - the latter did not get from Orange County, and Dillan, what is called, "released" - he refused to embody the idea. As a result, the drummer Eric Sandin (ex-participant Caustic Cause) joined the team.
In the future, the composition has repeatedly changed for various reasons, sad and not very, but now it looks like this: Fat Mike, famous for shocking behavior, wild color of the hair and closure in women's outfits, two Eric and Aaron Abeit, he is El Hephe.
As for the name, Melvin recalled: at the start of the creative path, he was constantly at the Barpleta, where friends listened for hours all the ones in the house "Pankovsky" records. Among them turned out to be the only album and already broken Negative FX, so the non-existent team gained the second life in the NOFX name.
Music
In 1988, Nofx came out the debut Liberal Animation, recorded in record time - musicians needed only 3 days. If you listen more closely, then in one of the 14 songs - SHUT UP ALREADY - you can hear guitar riffs of the legendary British LED Zeppelin. By the way, it was on this track that the performers recorded the first clip.The hardworking and working capacity of guys at the start of the career admired - the next year the growing army of fans enjoyed the second "studio" S & M Airlines. In 1994, after the release, there are still pairs of plates, the release of Punk In Drublic, which later received gold certification subsequently. The same fate waited for the next SO Long and Thanks for all the shoes.
