Character History
Stavr Godinovic - the character of the Russian epic, which was prevailing in the XII-XIII centuries. Today, folklorists know different versions of the legend of this hero with minor discrepancies in artistic details. Traditionally, the image of a young boyin is presented in the epic narration passive, the role of the victim plays. The eponym has historical facts. It is known that a resident of Novgorod named Stavr at the order of Prince Vladimir Monomakh was sharpened in the dungeon. This is reported in the text of the Novgorod first chronicle. The document describes the riots that have passed in 1118 in Novgorod, the inhabitants of the city. The events caused the wrath of Monomakh, on the order of the Grand Duke, the investigation of its causes and the detection of instigators was conducted. Recognized in the end the guilty Novgorod boyars were in the dungeon - among them there was a Sotsky Stav. Sotski cannot be called the prototype of the hero, but the fact of the character's capture fell into the episoda.
Also, the mention of Boyaarine Star Gordytinich is present in the inscriptions of the XII century on the walls of the Sofia Cathedral in Kiev. The Russian folklore researchers believe that the initial version of the epics about Chernihiv husband appeared in the first half of the XII century in Novgorod. Later, the "stray" folklore plot was added to the main text, telling about how a devoted wife comes to the rescue of the spouse in the misfortune.

Such speeches cause anger from the prince - the order is given to grab the boyar and quit in the dungeon. Vladimir laughs at the prisoner, noting that if Vasilis is really so smart, then let the mind help her find and free the spouse. Soon, the wife of Stovera comes to lead that the beloved is sharpened in the princely cellars. Understanding that there is no money for the redemption of a man that the power of a husband is not returned, the daughter of Mikula Selyaninovich decides to use the female cunning.
The heroine is squeezing long hair, dressing up in a male dress and together with a squad goes to Kiev.
