Biography
John Constable is a representative of the old English school whose lyrical landscapes became a classic of British art. Romantic artist was convinced that painting should be engaged in the expression of feelings, and therefore sought to light the image of nature and with all the realism of the work left the place for imagination. Today, the Englishman's paintings are in the expositions of the best museums in the world and in private collections.Childhood and youth
John was born in 1776 in the family of Ann and Golding constable, which owned a mill and a ship for the carriage of grain. The established business brought a stable income, and the spouses could give children a good education. The future artist first studied at the boarding school, and then moved to day learning, which allowed to live with his parents. Like brothers, John helped parents with family business, spending a lot of time on the mill.
The beauty of the native nature, the images of which he subsequently glorified him, inspired the guy on sketches, which he did all his free time, traveling around the surroundings and choosing picturesque corners. Acquaintance with artists and collectors inspired constable so much that he expressed his father's intention to become a professional painter. To the surprise of John himself, he agreed and even allocated money for training in the London Royal Academy of Arts, where the Son went in 1799.
Personal life
With the future wife, Maria Bicnell John met in childhood. For many years, they tied a strong tender friendship, which over time turned into a mature feeling. Lovers got married in 1816. The wedding had to be waiting for more than one year: the bride's parents considered the party with the artist too unprofitable and were afraid that he would let the dowred Mary in the wind.The girl tried to persuade his relatives, but the happy union eventually became possible thanks to the sad fact of the biography: the father and the Mother of Constheblah died, and he received his part of the inheritance, becoming finally satisfactory fiance. After the honeymoon spent in the south, the couple settled in Brighton. The life of the family was difficult to call a messy. Pictures of the painter did not enjoy in great demand in England, and constable gradually increased by debts.
Spouse, and no weak health, almost every year she gave birth to her husband's husband. In 1928, after the appearance of the seventh child, the wife died. The cause of death has become tuberculosis. Until the end of the days, John did not shoot Mourning, sorrowfully about the lost angel, and Maria remained the only woman in his personal life.
Painting
An inspired by the beauty of the Lovem Vale's native Valley, the artist once and forever chose a genre of landscape as a trunk. And the surroundings of Suffolk to this day are called the edge of the constable. This does not mean that John has not tried himself in other directions: a self portrait, a portrait of the artist's wife, genre and religious canvases, but still the glory of the Englishman decreased primarily due to accurate and shrill images of nature, which sometimes resemble photos.
Creativity of constable is customary to belong to the flow of romanticism, since its paintings are characterized by emotional fullness and alien socio-household orders. John sought to work with pure bright color and satuned with a canvas with dynamic strokes.
Since 1819, the landscapeist offered to participate in the exhibitions of the Royal Academy of Arts, where he received approval, which, however, did not affect the demand for the paintings. More than the popularity of the British canvas used abroad, for example, in France. After 10 years, Constable became a member of the Academy, and later appointed by her inspector. John's lectures were very popular with students, and he himself became a noticeable figure in the world of British visual art.
Death
Remaining a widower, the painter alone brought up seven children. For almost 10 years he lived without a spouse, continuing to draw paintings and teach landscape painting for students of the Royal Academy of Arts and the Royal Institute.Debel died in the 60s, presumably, due to the aggravated stomach and digestion problems. The masters did not become March 31, 1837. The man was buried near the spouses in Hampusted.
