But Ronnie Dio surpassed many, because at one time he sang in Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell and the DiO solo project - the legendary teams of hard rock. The real name of the artist is Ronald James Padavona. He was born in the Portsmouth State of New Hampshire at the midst of World War II - July 10, 1942. Before US joining the Military Actions, Father and Mother Ronnie lived in the Cortland State of New York. When the world came, the family returned there.
Interest in music woke up in the boy in childhood. True, he gave preference not rock or blues, but opera. His favorite singer was Mario Lance.
The range of vote Dio was not more than three octave, but was distinguished by velvety, saturation. The Contractor claimed that he never took the lessons of vocal, but he served a good service on the pipe and studied during them the breathing technique.
Pipe Ronnie Dio began to conquer in 5 years. He succeeded so much that he received an invitation from the Juladsk school - one of the best music schools in the United States. Personal life
In the mid-1960s, the wife of a young man became Loretta Baradi. For unknown reasons, the spouses did not start their own child, but turned into shelters. Now Dan Padavona is a well-known writer. He composes the thrillers.In 1978, Ronnie took the wife of his manager Vandidi Gaxiol. Their not quite happy personal life ended with divorce in 1985. However, the friendly relations of the ex-spouse retained until the death of the musician in 2010.
Music
In 1967, Ronnie Dio & The Prophets turned into a new group The Electric Elves. The composition remained practical the same, but the music "sick". Like many Ronni Dio's teams, The Electric Elves changed the name several times, with time declining to ELF.
The brilliant career of the artist was built not only on talent, but also on a successful coincidence. Here is one of them. In 1972, Roger Glover and Ian Pace from Deep Purple were at the ELF concert at the bar. Musicians so hit the energy of a young group that they offered to be sprinkling a debut album.
In subsequent years, ELF regularly played "warming up" at Deep Purple. Thanks to this, the guy's voice heard guitarist Richie Blackmore. Later he said:
"I left Deep Purple, because I met Ronnie Dio and found out how to work with him."In 1975, a new project was born in creative partnership, which placed the end of ELF, Rainbow. Ronnie Dio and Richie Blackmore wrote 3 studio albums for Rainbow, and in 1979 divided into different roads. The reason for the discretion was the fact that the guitarist had more and more commercialized the group, and the vocalist insisted on the prevalence of creativity over the money. As a result, Richie Blackmore remained with Rainbow, and Dio went to the Black Sabbath, replacing Ozzy Osborne.
Embed from getty imagesIn the Black Sabbath, the musician spent only 3 years, briefly returning to the 1992 to record Dehumanizer album. It is believed that the vocalist left due to the conflict of interests with sound engineer. Allegedly Ronnie did not give him to work, demanding that his voice on the record sounded louder tools. The performer of these rumors refuted.
In 1982, the man again turned out to be at the helm, founding the DIO group. The debut plate Holy Driver 1983 thundered to the whole world and entered the Golden Fund of Hard-Rock of the 1980s.
The DIO team is one of two Ronni projects, the collapse of which took place only after the death of vocalist. The discography of this collective is calculated with 10 studio and 9 live-albums. The latter include not only the records of living concerts, but also clips.
The second "immortal" project is Heaven & Hell, formed in 2006 former members of Black Sabbath. The guys managed to burn only 3 albums, including 1 studio.
Ronnie Dio devoted to music 43 years of life. He himself composed songs - from the text to the arrangement, mastered new tools. By the end of the creative path, a man knew how to play guitar, drums, keyboards and winds: flute, saxophone, flushing, trombone, pipe and french horn.
After himself, the performer left more than 50 albums, including 23 studios, and the name in the Hevi-Metal History Hall. Rock musician is immortalized in bronze - a monument to a height of more than 2 meters is installed in Kavarna (Bulgaria).
Death
The cause of the death of Ronnie Dio was the stomach cancer diagnosed in 2009. Despite the treatment passed, the tumor continued to grow.Forceing pain, the artist planned to go tour from Heaven & Hell in the summer of 2010, but did not have time. The disease won it on May 16, 2010.
The funeral of the legendary rock musician took place on May 30, 2010 in Los Angeles. Not only his colleagues came to say goodbye (in photographs from events you can see Rudy Sarzo, Glenn Hughes, Joey Belladonnu, Inve Malmstina), but also thousands of fans.
Hall did not comply all those wishing. Therefore, on the building where the funeral was passed, installed screens with direct broadcast. The ceremony participants showed a documentary about the performer's career - from ELF to Heaven & Hell.
