Oleg Leonidovich Lundstrem was born on April 2, 1916 in the Trans-Baikal Territory of the Russian Empire in the intelligent family. The name of the boy received from the great-grandfather, a representative of the Swedish nationality, which, according to the existing legends, was correct served by the Scandinavian country.
Parents of the future musician settled in the Far Eastern Republic, the Father worked in the Chita gymnasium for prosperous Soviet children. Then he headed the cultural department of a puppet buffer state and received a chance to get acquainted with a number of interesting useful people.
In the 20s, when the second son Igor appeared in the family, Lundstrem-Senior was invited to the Border Chinese City Harbin. He became a teacher in the School, and then a professor at the Polytechnic Institute, but as a result, a professional life did not work for political reasons.
Before the tragic moment, when the father of the brothers was repressed, the family lived, adapting safely in unfamiliar circles. The boys received classic education, almost simultaneously fond of music and began to attend events and concerts in neighboring cities.
The creative hobby did not prevent Olag to finish the commercial school, then he entered the Harbin Polytechnic Institute on the advice of his parents. In parallel, the young man studied a note guide and a game on a violin, not suspecting that in the near future he is awaiting a loud success.
After decades, Lundstrem returned to academic education - graduated from the Kazan State Conservatory in 1953. By this time, a mature man checked the theory in practice and realized that it was necessary to have respect for music and creative work.
An acquaintance with modern melodies began with a plate of Duke Ellington, which was attended by the composition with the name "Dear Old South". Jazz arrangements made by an outstanding American, fully captured Oleg and like-minded people who gathered around.
The young man passionately wanted to reproduce the loved compositions, and he, with the support of the younger brother, organized an amateur team. Unfortunately, the works played by young musicians were not recorded by anyone and did not enter the National Archive.
Personal life
On the personal life of Oleg Lundstrema, a little known to Jazz lovers, with his wife - actress Galina Zhdanova lived for more than 40 years. The family couples did not have any known reasons for anyone, but they did not burn on this, they loved each other and did not know the troubles.In the mid-1960s, the head of the popular orchestra bought land in the suburbs and built a spacious house. The family of his native brother Igor often rented room there, so spouses rarely managed to stay together.
One of the nephews Leonid Igorevich, inspired by the success of his father and uncle, graduated from the Moscow Conservatory. He was a guest concertmaster of a number of famous orchestras, this was reported and writing journal articles.
The youngest representative of the name Peter Leonidovich Lundstrem went in the footsteps of the cousin and became an outstanding violinist. He participated in international competitions and music festivals, and also went to a large scene with ensembles created by the Father.
Music
At the beginning of the creative biography, the team of Lundstrem "Shanghai" performed songs of Soviet composers, familiar thousand people. At concerts where these popular melodies sounded, jazz fans, relatives and a dozen friends were present.
The ensemble was replenished with new participants and soon became a full-fledged orchestra, where Oleg Leonidovich acted as a mentor, an inspirer and conductor. The work of the "Interlude", which did not sound anything before, caused the admiration of the Far Eastern public and produced a real extension.
After success, the author of the melody thought about returning to the country of Soviets, but in the central cities did not welcomed the style abroad. Jazz virtuosos cried through theatrades and philharmonics, and Lundstrem began to think that he had done a thousand miles in vain.
Working in the Cultural Center in Kazan, Oleg collected like-minded people and recorded instrumental compositions for programs entering the radio. Sometimes concerts were arranged on the improvised sites, which he learned about the world erased over time.
During this period, Lundstrem soloists were the Future Stars of the stage - Alla Pugacheva and Valery Ozodzinsky revealed their talent there. Later, the beginning of their career in one of the best Soviet orchestras envied every professional musician.
In the mid-50s, the creative circles of the capital were interested in the artists, and Jazz Band, headed by the Creator, finally, to perform in Moscow. Soon after that, the work of Marsh Foxtrot, the Bucharest ornament, the "Song without words" and "humorous" became famous for the whole country.
The team began to tour the world and participate in international festivals, Lundstrem one of the first Soviet musicians played at the event in the United States. After that, the singer Debora Brown appeared in the star, from whose outstanding vocals each soul was trembled.

Death
In the old age, Oleg Lundstrem lived in a country house in the village Valentinovka, judging by the last photographs, he was vigorous and quite healthy. Without the opportunity to directly lead his own orchestra, a man passed to participants through the director of instructions and encouraging words.In October 2005, the heart of the Great Jazzman could not stand: the cause of his death has become a developing alert over the years. Relatives said that the musician was sick diabetes and in recent years was forced to limit time on labor and leisure.
At the ceremony at the grave located on the cemetery near Moscow, relatives, colleagues and a dozen closest friends were present. By decision of the family members, the Oleg Lundstrema Foundation was organized, which supports talented and creative young people.
