Maria Parre was born on January 18, 1981 in a small village of Ficovogd, located on the west coast of Norway. She grew in a big family together with his brother and two sisters. Mother worked as a primary school teacher, and his father was a journalist of a local newspaper.
Early years of Maria's biography were full of inspirational stories who told her her parents and grandmothers. As is customary in many Norwegian families, the mother read the mother to children books, which contributed to the development of the imagination of the future writer.

The first attempts of publications were for the author unsuccessful. The book "Wafer Heart" was first published in 2005 and quickly gained popularity among young readers. The plot of the works unfolds around the quiet and judicial boy Thille and his rain and charismatic classmates Lena. Illustrations for the publication are created by the artist bu Gaustad.
As the writer later admitted, the images of the heroes appeared in her head, even when she herself was a child. Thrill is largely similar to her, and Lena is written off from a friend. Other characters and the atmosphere of the fictional chip-Matilda bay were inspired by the children's memories of the Parr about life in the province.
The debut was highly appreciated by critics and awarded award that encourages the popularization of the Novonorezhian language. No less successful was the exit of its next book, called "Tonya Glimmerdal" on behalf of the main character. This is a story about a small red-haired girl who lives in a village where there are no other children, so she spends most of the time in the company of Old Manvald.
Already then the works of the Norwegian writer began to be interested in all over the world, including Russia. The author first docked Olga Drobot, collaborating with the Publishing House "Scooter", which soon published the first two works in Russian. And in 2010, Maria first visited Moscow, where he gave an interview and conducted a seminar "10 minutes about values."
A year later, the screening of its novel "Wafer Heart", which was released in the form of a multi-sized film. Soon, Parre met with small actors who played the main roles, and they inspired her to continue the story.
So in 2017 there was a 2nd part of the "waffle heart" - "goalkeeper and the sea", telling about the matured thrill and Lena. The event was covered in social networks, including Facebook and Instagram, and 2 years later, the Russian-speaking version of the novel became available on the official website of the scooter publishing house. In honor of this Maria again visited Russia, where it became very popular, this time St. Petersburg and Novosibirsk.
