The detective drama series "Chikatilo" will tell about the life and capture of the most famous and terrible maniac-killer of the USSR, who deprived life more than 40 people, raped and killed women and children. His name became known far beyond the limits of the Soviet Union, and in the USSR itself never had criminals of such a scale. Police officers had to develop new ways and methods to catch this killer. The biography of Maniac Chikatilo is still studying criminals of different countries, and the cruelty, with which the killer committed crimes is horrified and does not give in to human understanding.

Filming
Shooting the series "Chicatilo. The phenomenon of the beast "started in September 2020 and passed in the capital of Russia and the Rostov region, in places where the real maniac was wrung in 1982-1990. The shooting process ended in December of the same year.

"Our team worked on a project with full responsibility to the material and with the desire to show a unique story of the formation and capture of a cruel killer, or rather, as it became possible. I am grateful to OKKO for the ability to make this story available to millions of users, and I hope they will appreciate our work on dignity, "Sari Andreasyan said in an interview. "This is a terrible story, and we will try to convey it as honestly," the director stressed.
The project's creators told that they tried to show events as realistic as possible. Therefore, the shocking scenes of violent murders and violence are shown in the TV series "without embellishment" and the project has a limitation of 18+.

However, the authors of the TV series "Chicatilo" do not comment on this information and keep the name of the artist's leading role in the Secret.
Also, some users expressed outrage of the idea itself, the title and theme of the project, believing that the creators of "Chikatilo" "perpetuated the name of the maniac."
