Glory Zizhek was born on March 21, 1949 in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. His parents were atheists, which later affected the worldview of the philosopher. The mother of the boy worked as an accountant at the state-owned enterprise, and his father was an economist and dreamed that the Son would go to his footsteps.
Early years of culturologist's biography took place in the city of Portoroz, where he became interested in movies and literature. Only in 1975 he won the master's degree, and then got a job in the Marxist center of the CC CC. The next place of work of the scientist became the Institute of Sociology Slovenia, where he explored the influence of unconscious fantasies on the formation of a person. In the early 1980s, he defended his doctoral dissertation, when writing which he relied on the works of George Hegel.
