Childhood and youth

The present name of the writer is James Alfred White. He was born on October 3, 1916 in Sunderland, which in the County of Tyne-End-Wir in the north of England, but from the first weeks lived in Glasgow - the largest city of Scotland.

Father James Henry White worked as a locksmore, and still fond of music, for the soul he worked as a silent movie with a pianist. Hannah's mother (in Major Bell) was a professional singer, and since the 1920s, he succeeded in sewing clothes. Their financial situation could be called stable.

The name of the veterinarian was invented when I watched a football match between Birmingham City and Manchester United in February 1969. At the gate of one of the clubs stood Jim Harrit. The surname seemed frantic writer. He checked her by the register of veterinarians and, not finding coincidences, assigned to himself.

The football player learned that the British writer took his surname, only in 1988 from the article in the Sunday Mail newspaper. Men met and became friends.
