Ruslan Shamilovich Chagaev was born in Andijan on October 19, 1978. Father Shamil is from the Ulyanovsk region, and the mother of Zamira is from Uzbekistan.
Starting to act, the fighter tried to help the family as much as possible. His parents did not have time to be happy to the success of the Son, eagerly leaving life. The athlete has an older sister of Louise, who remained to live in the house.

Ruslan wanted to get into force sports from 13 years old, dreaming to learn at the school of the Olympic reserve. For starters, the boy tried to become a rod and a fighter, but did not have time for a set. Then he drew attention to the box and was successful in it.
The young man was low, lost his strength and endurance, losing weight after training. He put the goal to recover, and he succeeded: almost every year Ruslan changed the weight category until he got to the biggest.
Already in 1995, Chagayev, speaking as a lover in the Heavy Weight category, received the title of Asia champion. Then he won bronze in Havana, on the youth championship, and fell into the Olympic team of Uzbekistan (Atlanta).
A young man began a professional career in 1997, aged 19. This year, he won the world championship among lovers (Budapest), who defeats the invincible Cuban Felix Savon.
This period coincided with the scandal: before the invitation to the Competitions of Chagaev met in the ring with two American rivals. Being a pro, heavyweight did not have the right to act before the tournament. For misconduct it was disqualified for a year, but then allowed to return to the lover.
Until the late 90s, the boxer became the owner of the title "Honored Athlete of the Republic of Uzbekistan", the Gold Medal of the Asian Championship (Bangkok) and Asian Games. The spectacular battles came out at the athlete in Houston when he defeated New Zealander Garta and Silva and Australian David Turner, but suffered from Felix Savon.
On the Summer Olympics (Sydney, 2000), the fighter was unsuccessful. Nevertheless, he was invited to live several times and train to America. This was also facilitated by the World Amateur Boxing Championship (Belfast, 2001), from where heavyweight brought the Gold Medal.
Chagaev became famous for a strong left hook. He won part of the battle by knockout with one blow and earned a reputation as a very strong punch boxer. At the World Cup in Belfast, the athlete managed to complete the fights ahead of time, and the Irish press wrote about a boxer as a "white Tyson". The agents and headquarters of the winner began to exploit the nickname, although the fighter himself and now asks not to compare herself with the American.
A trip to the United States in the 2000s turned out to be an unsuccessful idea: heavyweight held four battles here and did not see the prospects. Then he accepted a proposal from the German company Universum and moved to Germany. The local boxing school was close to the Soviet, and the athlete felt comfortable.
Over the next 3 years, the boxer has repeatedly went to the ring with strong opponents. In 2006, he decided to become a contender on the WBA World Champion belt. To do this, it was necessary to combat an experienced rival - American John Ruiz. Today, the fighter tells that the fight was difficult, but at the same time the best for his entire career. The meeting ended with the victory of Ruslan.
Another loud battle for heavyweight was a fight with Nikolai Valuev in Stuttgart in 2007. The Russian before the meeting with Chagaev never lost and did not doubt his luck. But the competent tactics of the fight allowed to happen incredible: Ruslan, who weighed less than the Russian athlete at 40 kg, was able to defeat and get the title of world champion.
The next year, the fighter defended the title twice, spending fights with Matt Skelton and Karl Davis Dramond. But the planned new meeting with Valuev did not take place: Ruslana was not allowed to ring because of hepatitis B detected in the analysis
In 2009, the boxer suffered a defeat from Vladimir Klitschko. According to the ex-champion, he received the Flash Nokdown and could continue the battle, but the seconds decided otherwise.
Restoring, in 2010, the athlete twice defended the title in battles from Kali Mien and Travis Walker, but next year he could not cope with Alexander Povetkin, giving way to the Russian WBA title.
After the loud loss, Chagaev continued to fight. Since 2012, to the surprise of Uzbek fans, he began to go under the flag of the Chechen Republic. In 2013, Ramzan Kadyrov announced to Webstagram, that Ruslan is actually a Chechen, and not a Tatar for nationality. This was found evidence in the archives of the state. At this point, the fighter began to progress the disease of the eyes, as well as other injuries made itself felt. Ruslan decided to complete the career, abandoning meetings with new rivals and having lost champion title.
