Blonde Redhead is a group of New York, performing alternative rock. In Russian, the name is translated as "Red Blonde". The permanent participants of Blonde Redhead are Simon and Amedeo Pace Brothers, as well as a vocalist Kaz Makino, whose high, sobbing children's voice became the group's business card.
Simon and Amedao were born in Milan, and grew up in Montreal. In his youth, they moved to Boston to learn jazz. After receiving the degrees of bachelors, the brothers joined the underground rock scene of New York.
The history of the creation of "Red Blondes" began in 1993. During the trip to Italy, the twins met a friend who advised them to find a student of college college in New York by Kaz Makino. In his opinion, Japanese's vocals perfectly approached their music.
Upon his return, the brothers chance came to the girl in the Italian restaurant. A little gripping, the musicians understood that they sounded well together. The team was named Blonde Redhead in honor of the song from DNA 1981.
Music
The selected debut album was released in 1995. On March 17, 2015, the group for the first time played a concert in Russia - in the Moscow club "Theater". The team of Kira Lao was played. On July 12, 2017, Blonde Redhead was again in the Russian capital, this time in the club "16 tons". The song "23", Elephant Woman, Falling Man and others hit the set list.
In September 2019, Kaz Makito released the first solo album Adult Baby. On the piano and organ played Ryuiti Sakamoto, on the drums - Jan Chang and Greg Sonier.
Blonde Redhead now
In the 2020s, the group had to play Miami, Baltimore, Montreal, Grand Rapids and other cities. But because of the pandemic of coronavirus infection, the tour of the US group is now canceled.
Taking advantage of the pause in the tour schedule, September 4, 2020 Blonde Redhead in honor of the 20th anniversary of the Melody of Certain Damaged Lemons album released reissue in Deluxe format.
