The third task seemed to both fantastic. The engineer was supposed to extract a three-digit root from a 1775-digit number in five minutes. He had to write on two huge screens, because on one it would not fit. Borisov called the correct response after four minutes, which caused an exclamation of surprise not only in the auditorium, but also from a member of the jury Olga Rustle.
The abilities of the Chelyabinar seemed especially incredible in the light of the fact that such calculations are not for even calculators. Only heavy duty computers would cope with them.
The participant himself explained that invented his computational system based on mathematical series, which allow you to quickly determine possible answers as probable or implausible. With the usual decimal system, this technique has nothing to do. This is a triangular or rhombic grid consisting of numbers.
Unfortunately, the Final Borisov did not pass, giving way to the girl who remembered a hundred two-digit numbers, standing in a flask with ice.
However, the man was not going to give up and returned to the show in the 5th season. On November 1, 2020, he became the winner of the finals of "amazing people", leaving behind Dominic Gavrilenko, the Andranik brothers and Gevorg Vardanyanov, Maria Shaboltayev, Catherine Kuleshov and even Richard Turner himself. According to the results of the audience voting, the genius scored 16% of the vote. Dmitry got the main prize - a million rubles and a certificate for a journey through the cities of Russia.
