Darius was born on June 3, 1974 in the town of Eshfield County Franklin, Massachusetts. His parents of Ephraim and Lauri belonged to a closed community living in accordance with the teachings of philosopher Georgy Gurdjieff.
They were artists and raised five children who as a child had little seen outside the farm on Parsons Street. They were surrounded by 35 followers of the Russian Mystic, who were engaged in the level of consciousness, spiritual practices and meditative physical work, including the cultivation of vegetables and the milking goats. Then the screenwriter took up the biography of the mass-led metal drummer. Without the budget and hope for success, he, together with his brother, wrote about 2000 pages of history on the table, for the embodiment that could not find money for a long time.
The funds were found at the last moment and practically miraculously, after which the director began shooting the drama "Metal Sound" by choosing to the main role of the British-Pakistani actor and the musician Riza Ahmed. The premiere of the film took place at an international film festival in Toronto - 2019, and a year later, Amazon Studios released him.
Personal life
Darius married School Beloved Lisa Cassidy, who later became an artist and actress. She gave birth to the director of two sons - Eis and Ezru. From Massachusetts, the family moved to New York, where he lived for 25 years.
Having finished work on the film "Metal Sound", Mardard returned to Eshfield and now lives in the city of his childhood. In 2021, the Edition of Greenfield Recorder reported that he broke up with his wife.
