Biography
The ROOP Lithuanian Group works in the ELECTRONIC DANCE MUSIC style, there are also elements of such directions such as indie, soft rock, pop rock and Dance Rock. Talented musicians, who became the favorites of the Baltic public, won a ticket to the Eurovision International Song Contest. Now their singles and albums marked by national prizes enjoy mad popularity and are considered a phenomenon that can combine and glorify the country.The history of creation and composition
The ROOP group was formed in the fall of 2014 in Vilnius. The authors of the history of the creation became musicians who had experience in the show industry. Guys participated in the filming of national entertainment projects and included in the composition of Lithuanian teams who were amateur and professional levels.
The soloist and keyboard player Vaidotas Curnechyus, born in May 1981 in Kaunas, studied at the Director of the Faculty of Klaipeda State University and decided to devote the lives of creativity. At different stages of the biography, a talented young man was the leader of the teams Omega and Kosmo, a leading popular television program, the artist of the leading role in the melodramatic series "My favorite enemy" and a singer, known under the nickname Milanno.
Robertas Baranauskas and Mantas Banishauskas were graduates of the same educational institution. In the team, The Roop first received the place of the drummer and percussionist, the second took responsibility for the guitar and backing vocals.
At the stage of the formation with the trio, the bassist named Wainyus Simoukenas collaborated. In 2018, the need for the first fourth participant disappeared, and the musician left the original composition.
Music
The professional creative path of the team began with the release of the BE MINE composition, followed by a clip, in which the main roles played the actors Severia Janushaw and Victor Topolis. Roller, shot in the capital of Lithuania by Director Vitautas Tinteris, had a social attack. The plot and music were interested in the audience and received positive feedback on the Internet.In 2015, The Roop released short video on songs in My Arms and Not Too Late, also warmly accepted by residents of the Baltic States. The last work was considered a revolutionary, because in it, according to a number of sources, for the first time in the world, shooting 360 degrees was applied.
The debut album called To Whom It May Concern Waidotas Vaidas Curnechius, Mantas Banishauskas and Robertas Baranauskas recorded with the support of DK Records. It distributed in Digital, Streaming and CD formats. Songs released earlier received the status of official singles and became accessible to download. Music critics from Lithuania concluded that the group has formed its own style.
In the fall of 2017, the team from Vilnius presented the release of Ghosts, which took 34th place in the National Chat. The main interest, from the point of view of texts and arrangements, caused the Dream ON tracks, Keista Draugystė and Hello, promoted on social networks and on digital music platforms.
Six months later, in the spring of 2018, the Yer Yes, I DO was presented to the court of fans. The titration of the same name, which received rotation on the Baltic radio stations, together with the songs of Dance With Your Hands and Silly Me, was in the Hait Parade Agata, based on the Stregning and Site Site Sites, iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play and Deezer.
At the same time, The Roop was first applied for participation in the Eurovision International Competition. According to the results of the voting, the team took the 3rd place, giving the Eve Zasimauskite-Kiltinaviche and Yurgis Bezheg.
Having worked on errors, curvekius, Baranauskas and Banishauskas, composed the song on Fire, which became a real breakthrough. In the 2020s, Lithuanian experts almost unanimously decided to send a team to the 65th, jubilee, the final competition of performers from the member countries of the European Broadcasting Union.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the trip did not take place, but the musicians acquired a tremendous experience. They signed a contract with one of the studios of the Warner Music Group concern and received a re-chance to declare themselves on the international stage. In addition, the group has become a contender for 5 nominations of the M.A.A.A. Music Prize. And received 4 honorable diplomas.
The Roop now
At the beginning of 2021, The Roop was released a Discoteque composition designed for the Eurovision final stage in Rotterdam. Video clip shot by a talented director and producer Saulus Baradinskas, in a short period of time scored a huge number of views. The activity of users who were fans of the group became a record for the National Yutiub-Channel.
The song, which was a mixture of modern popular genres, took 1st place in the Hit-parade of Spotify Lithuania Top 50 and Lithuanian charts iTunes, Apple Music and Deezer. The musicians received the status of the Favorites of competition in the Netherlands, according to the independent jury.
