Olga Gennadevna Vilukhin is well known to biathlon lovers. The Russian athlete glorified her name at the 2012 World Championships and in the Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014, where she managed to win the "silver" in the women's relay and sprint. Olga Vilukhina's name becomes widely known. The girl is invited to the World Cup stage in Khanty-Mansiysk in March 2009. And she justified all the expectations, showing the best time among Russian athletes in the sprint. Vilukhina fell into the "flower ceremony". Upon completion of the 2008-2009 season, it was included in the national team. To the new season, the girl first was preparing together with the main team.
Unfortunately, Olga Vilukhin is ill. And without the high level of hemoglobin simply "shook". Due to the heat began to turn around the blood. The temperature rose to 40 degrees. After returning the girl was treated, but during this period it was losing the form. Therefore, after checking training, the coaching staff decided to send it to the IBU Cup. It seems that sporting luck turned away from biathletes. In Austria, Olga Vilukhin in a hurry forgot the starting numbers on their feet. While the girl brought them to them, passed precious 40 seconds. It is these seconds that she lost to the leader. At the IBU Cup in German Altenberg, the biathlete was able to become only the 17th. Ole had to be abandoned from further competitions due to severe otitis.
Next season, health again led Olga. But in January 2012 in the Czech new place-on-Morava, Vilukhin managed to snatch victory. She installed a personal record: 5th place in the sprint. And in March, biathlete for the first time in his career was able to rise to 3rd place in the championship race at the World Championships in Bavarian Rupolding.
