The Cramps Group in the 1970s-1990s was considered one of the most vivid musical phenomena in the junior shutoffs of America and Europe. The history of the creation of The Cramps team began with the meeting of the Lux Intersira, nee Eric Lee Purkhistra, and the Podon of Ivey, which was actually called Christie Wallace. In the light of the generality of artistic interests and passionateness to collecting vinyl records, residents of California, settled in Sacramento, decided to form a duet.
A young man who took the alias from the automotive company advertising, and the girl, according to the legend, who saw his stage name in a dream, began to build a career in the city of Akron State Ohio. In search of glory, they moved to New York in 1975.
In the place where many representatives of subcultures lived, vocalist and guitarist got married. Together with such groups, like Suicide, Blondie, Talking Heads and Ramones, they reached an alternative scene. The music played by these teams, theorists were attributed to punk rock genres.
In 1976, Brian Gregory multi-instruments were joined to The Cramps, as well as the drummers Miriam Linna, Pamela Balam Gregory and NOKS NIC. The quartet took a professional rehearsal base, and they rented a premises in Manhattan at the Legendary Group The Fleshtones.
The first public speeches took place in the cult New York nightclubs CBGB and Max's Kansas City. In parallel, singles were recorded, over time entered into the debut LP album.

Music
In the late 1970s, The Cramps concluded a contract with the American label Ardent Studios and went on tour in the UK. They performed on the heating from the Sting Collective The Police, which promoted the Outlandos d'Amour plate.In 1978, the luxury and the company gave a sign charitable concert for the inhabitants of the California State Psychiatric Clinic in Nay, broadcast by Target Vide in Lifest. In the 1980s, the group moved to Los Angeles and hired a guitarist Kida Congo Powers from The Gun Club team to work on a Psychedelic Jungle record. Then the musicians turned out to be drawn into a dispute with the producer of Milz Copeland on copyright and royalties. The following trial pretended to release something until 1983. Smell of Female's concert album output put a point in the war and returned the team to a big scene.
In the mid-1980s, The Cramps went to an extensive European tour, which included four aggregate evenings in the London Hammersmith Palais Hall. They also recorded video performances of The Most Exalted Potentate of Love and You Got Good Taste, later shown in The MidSummer Night's Tube 1984 program.
The creativity of this period was distinguished by rocabile melodies, performed at a different pace on two solo guitars with minimal reinforcement of drums. Since 1986, the main focus was made to the voice and bass. The lyric detention texts appeared humor, sexual ambiguity and iconography of retro-horror and science fiction pictures of category B, which are between Arthaus and pornography. With the appearance in the discography of the album A Date with Elvis The Cramps acquired mad popularity in the UK, while the team struggled to find producers who are ready to engage in the United States. Subsequent projects - RockinnreenininaucklandnewzeAlandXXXX and Stay Sick - got into European charts, in the early 1990s the best result was the appearance in the top 40 single Bikini Girls with Machine Guns.
When the group signed a contract with MEDICINE label, a closed presentation of the Max's Kansas City concerter was organized at the CBGB club. Disc with songs and video clips received free people who took the ticket. After that, the debut was held at National American Television. In the transfer of Late Night with Conan O'Brien The Cramps performed an incendiary song Ultra Twist.
In early 2001, 49-year-old Brian Gregory died in the Anaheim Memorial Medical Center from complications after a heart attack. A year later, the remaining participants of the team released the last album - Fiends of Dope Island on their own label Vengeance Records.
The Cramps final shows in America and Europe took place in the summer of 2006, fans of creativity forever remembered how the musicians performed Human Fly and Fever songs at the Marquee National Theater.
Decay
On February 4, 2009, the Lux Interior died in the Glendale Memorial Hospital as a result of aortic bundle. Contrary to the initial information about the protracted disease, the end of the frontman of the legendary group shocked colleagues and close people. Ivey decided that the group could not exist without a permanent vocalist, the author of the texts, an outstanding artist and a generator of ideas.
