Eliseev was born on March 31, 1993 in the Administrative District of the capital - Zelenograd. 2 children were brought up in the family of athletes - Matvey has an elder brother.
The boy was originally doomed to the sports career: his father - biathlete, mother - skier. The future athlete first got on skis at 3 years old. Dreams to devote the lives of sports in Matvey was not. He just did what I liked. And the dedication and desire to win appeared in 3-4 classes.
Parents have attached a lot of spiritual, physical and material forces to the sports development of the Son. Expensive equipment for the young athlete had to buy for their own money. And the father did not regret the time to make long-term tourist hiking with children. The boys learned how to extract themselves in the forest, survive due to nature. The brothers were caught fish, gathered mushroom berries, prepared meals on a fire and swam on kayaks on mountain rivers.

Eliseev as part of the Russian team, which included Anton Sipulin, Maxim Flowers, Evgeny Garanichev, Dmitry Malyshko, Alexander Loginov, Alexey Volkov, defended Russia's 52nd World Championships, which was held in the Austrian Hochfilzen in mid-February 2017. Participation in the World Cup relay then was crowned with the 2nd place.
The biathlete was one of the participants of the team speaking at the Olympics, which took place in 2018 in the Korean city of Pytenchhan. The team received the name "Olympic Athletes from Russia", since earlier by decision of the IOC, the Olympic Committee of the Russian Federation was removed from participation in the OI. In addition to Eliseeva, another 10 more colleagues should be in the national team. But only four were admitted to competitions. They were Matvey himself, Anton Babikov, Tatiana Akimov and Ulyana Kaisheva. The speech of the team on the games in Korea was recognized as a failure. The Russians are not the fact that for the first time they did not visit the honorary pedestal, but also remained far behind the leaders of the contest.
Low indicators at the Olympics forced the biathlon team to revise the system of training athletes. Personal life

In 2018, after returning from the Olympiad, Matvey married his beloved. In that year, the athlete suffered an operation to remove appendicitis, because of which he lost 5 kg. Its standard weight with an increase in 185 cm - 85 kg.
