Biography
Boris Eifman - the famous Soviet and Russian choreographer, People's Artist of Russia, a multifaceted director of classical and academic performances, as well as a real innovator in ballet art. The famous balletmaster is even called the founder of the modern Russian ballet.
Boris was born in the Altai Territory, in the village of Rubtsovsk, where, during the Great Patriotic War, the Father of Artist, Yankel Eifman, was sent. As a talented professional engineer Yankel Eifman participated in the construction of a plant for the production of tank engines. Mother's knowledge of the mother of the future choreographer, Clara Kouris, a doctor for education. Boris also has a native brother Leonid, who, having matured, immigrated to California.
When Bore was 5 years old, the family returned to his native Bessarabia, more precisely in the capital of Moldova, Chisinau. There, the boy studied at high school, later began to work, and the senior classes ended in parallel at the evening office. Then the young man entered the first time organized by the Faculty of Choreography at the Chisinau Music School, and already at the age of 17 received a teacher's place in the children's studio. Having worked in Moldova, Eifman went to the Northern Capital and entered the Leningrad State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov on the choreographic department. Since then, the city on the Neva has become native to Boris Yankelyevich.
Ballet
The graduate balletmaster Boris Eifman became in 1972, but another two years before the artist made the first professional performances on the scene of the Small Opera and Ballet Theater in Leningrad. Debut productions were the classic performances of "life to meet", "Gayane", "Brilliant Divertiment" and others.
After graduating from the conservatory, the choreographer became the director of the Leningrad State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Kirov, where he first put the ballet "Russian Symphony". In parallel, the young man taught at the Vaganova's Russian Ballet Academy.
All-Union Glory came to Boris Eifman after the artist undertook to put the most complicated performance of the "Fire-Bird" to the music of the composer Igor Stravinsky and successfully implemented conceived. With this ballet choreographer toured in the Soviet Union, and for other countries. The performance was produced by Furore among the Japanese public.
But hardly Eifman would have become a cult person if limited to a standard classic approach to ballet art. Boris Yankelievich always remained an innovator. The artist came up with mailing films on the mothers-performances. But the main achievement of Eifman - the creation of a new ballet's own theater in 1977.
For the USSR, the author's theater was a completely unique phenomenon. Moreover, the choreographer was not limited to academic elements in his productions. The own scene opened the artist path to an even more experimental approach in creativity. For example, Eifman was the first to suggest the public "Navelt ballet", dance rock performances, children's performances under the accompaniment of modern music.
This theater has a people's artist so far. True, since 1990, the brainchild of Eifman is another name - the St. Petersburg State Academic Ballet Theater under the leadership of Boris Eifman.
Under the new title, the artist also continued to experiment with productions. For example, in 1998, Boris Eifman put "My Jerusalem", in which, along with ethno-compositions and religious music, uses parties to techno music written by Future Sound Of London, Wahnfried and Reload.

Personal life
When Boris Eifman was young, the artist attributed a huge number of novels with famous women. There is nothing surprising in this: the artist led the bachelor's lifestyle for a long time, while being an impressive, attractive and more successful person. The loudest romantic attitudes of the choreographer were with the beauty-actress Anastasia Vertinskaya.
But Boris Eifman married Boris Eifman much later and on another woman. The wife of the choreographer became ballerina Valentina Morozova. Artists worked together for a long time, and today Valentina Nikolaevna has an invaluable help to her husband, only no longer as a dancer, but as a teacher of choreography. Boris and Valentine were already in a mature age when they decided to become parents: In 1995, the son of Alexander appeared.
Boris Eifman now
On July 22, 2016, Russia noted the anniversary dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the famous Soviet and Russian choreographer, the People's Artist Boris Eifman. Five days after his own anniversary, Boris Eifman received the state award of the Order of Honor with the wording "for great merits in the development of domestic culture and art, many years of fruitful activity."
The next year also found himself for the artist festive. In 2017, the 40th anniversary celebrated the brainchild of the artist - Boris Eifman Ballet Theater. Throughout the year, events dedicated to this event were held in the theater.
Troupe prepared a festive program and toured with this special concert. Two weeks, the artists of the Eifman Theater performed on the historic stage of the Bolshoi Theater, gave concerts in the cities of Russia, but these festive tour were not limited. Troupe also gave concerts in North America and China.
There were so many planned concerts and events that the organizers continued to delight the audience with a special program and in 2018. The final play-concert of the anniversary program "Yesterday, today, tomorrow" Boris Eifman appointed on February 13, 2018. As the completion of the tour cycle, the Native St. Petersburg is chosen, and the scene provides the Alexandrinsky Theater.
