Bilyal Makhov was born in September 1987 in Kabardino-Balkaria. Nationality athlete - Kabardian. But after moving at 8 years old to Dagestan, he began to represent this republic and act under her flag, although he never forgot about his homeland. At the age of 10, Bilyal Makhov won his first championship. At first, he was engaged in freestyle wrestling, but later the french Greco-Roman and achieved no less success here.
