Gymnast Ksenia Afanasyev was born on September 13, 1991 in Tula. Her mother in the past gymnast, and now the teacher in the university, so that the sport of Ksenia fell not by chance. The girl says Mom was against a gymnastic career, wanted her daughter to grow like other girls.

The beginning of the training was remembered by her permanent losses and insults. But she believed in her, so she did not quit gymnastics. When Afanasyev studied in grade 5, she was invited to fees to Moscow. The girl left with the coach of Marina Nazarova and stayed in the capital.
After school of Ksenia Afanasyev, he entered the St. Petersburg university to the coaching department, although it admits that he never wanted to be a coach. All her life, she combines studies with exhausting training, fees, competitions.
Gymnastics
The debut of the gymnasts Xenia Afanasyeva took place in junior competitions. There, the girl performed for CSKA sports club and gained experience. Soon she fell into the national team of Russia.
Ksenia remembers his first medal at the Russian Championships 2006. She performed at the Olympic Stadium and won a bronze medal. These were her first adult competitions. Then the long recovery period followed. For the first time after the injury of Ksenia Afanasyev appeared at the M. Voronin Cup at the end of 2014. In 2015, she won the Gold Medal at the Russian Championships.
At the 2016 Olympics, Rio de Janeiro Afanasyev should have been opposed to the Russian national team. But a few days before the departure, the gymnast coach reported that she had a renal-stone disease, an athlete was in the hospital. Instead, Evgenia Shelgunova appeared at the Olympic Games.
Personal life
Ksenia is not married, in life she is a loner, says she is hard to get along with someone. Gymnast loves order in everything, picky.
