Biography
Alexander Lesun is a Russian and Belarusian athlete, speaking in the discipline "Modern Pentathlon." He repeatedly won the European and world championships, and in 2016 he won the gold medals at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Alexander was born and grew up in the Belarusian city of Borisov. From early childhood, the boy became fascinated by sports and almost all the time, starting with six years, spent in the pool. He had good results, but at the age of 15, already being in the School of the Olympic Reserve, Lesun preferred a different sport - Pyatibore, in which he could be realized not only as a swimmer, but also as a runner, a fencer, a rider and the shooter.
Already by 17, the young man twice occupies the bronze medals of the European Championship in this complex discipline requiring incredible endurance - after all, all of the above-mentioned types of competitions athlete passes in one day. In 2007, Alexander included in the Belarusian national team, and for this country, Lesun acted not only as a five-fever, but also tried himself a couple of times in the "pure" fencing.
In 2008, a young man moves to Russia, takes citizenship and agrees to speak for a new homeland. The fact is that, according to Alexander, in Belarus, the head coach of the Olympic team did not specifically give him the opportunity to develop in order to include in the team of his own pupil. Medical documents were fabricated, according to which the forest is allegedly impossible to play sports. In Russia, a five-fever was examined in several different independent clinics that did not find any deviations.
Modern pentathlon
In the spring of 2010, Alexander Lesun managed to break through into the Russian national team and already in May won at the preliminary stage of the World Cup in Hungary, and in September won the silver reward of the full-or-format world championship. Next year, the new Russian repeated this achievement. Interestingly, I missed the Lesun only to the team of the national team - Sergei Karyakin and Andrei Moiseeva.
In 2012, the athlete's results were much improved: he not only won in almost all competitions, but also headed the world rating of the modern pentathlon. Alexander and London Olympics were driving as a favorite, perfectly performed in his beloved fencing, but at the last stage he gave himself to overtake his competitors and eventually took only 4th place.
Therefore, four years later, Rio de Janeiro, Lesun went with an irrepressible thirst for revenge. This desire was instantly manifested - Alexander, following the results of the personal competition, took the first place, taking the gold medal of the Olympic Games. Moreover, the five-liter established the Olympic record in fencing, typing 268 points in this form, which was not previously managed to anyone.
Now the main goal of a young man is the 2020 Olympics, which will be held in Tokyo. He wants to try himself not only in pentathlon, but also in the new Olympic discipline - a mixture, where a man and a woman are in a pair. Alexander wants to participate along with another naturalized Russian, a former athlete from Lithuania Donatas Rimschey.
Personal life
Alexander Lesuna's wife is Catherine. Up to 18, she, like the future husband, was engaged in modern pentathlon, but did not go to professional sport. In 2012, young people had a daughter. Interestingly, the Olympic champion categorically does not want the girl to go along his footsteps. He is not against sports "for himself", to maintain tone and health, but not as the main activity.
It must be said that Alexander Lesuin has to live on two countries. From spring to autumn, he lives on the suburban base, and the wife and child at this time lives in Minsk, in a country house, near which the pine forest is growing. There, the athlete is sent, as soon as his free days falls out, which happens very rarely.
And only for the winter, the family is united in Moscow, where Alexander is forced to rent an apartment, since the federation of the sport has not yet allocated his own housing.
