Biography
Oleg Vasilyev - Soviet figure skater, who achieved the title of Honored Master of Sport due to victories in the USSR Championships, as well as in the international arena, including the Gold Medal at the 1984 Olympics. In 2016, he was invited to the "Ice Age" rating show, where Vasilyev, after many years of coaching work, again felt the taste of competition as a participant.
Oleg was born and grew up in Leningrad in the family of Kim Mikhailovich and Lyudmila Konstantinovna Vasilyev. When the boy turned five years old, Mom decided that he should do sports, as he was painful and weak. The choice fell on the section of figure skating at the Central Park of Culture and Recreation named after S. M. Kirov. Later, Vasilyev married reuse. His new chosen name Valentina also comes from St. Petersburg, where the woman remained to live, even when the husband went to work in the United States. For a long time, Vasilyev lived and coached athletes in the United States, he had his own school figure skiing in Chicago. But today he returned to Russia. Until 2017, under his leadership, Alexander Prslov and Andrei Deputy, but in May 2017, Oleg Kimovich announced that his work with a couple ended.
In April 2018, Oleg Vasilyev was introduced into the Hall of Fame of World Figure Skating. And in the same month, I had a surgery for the replacement of the hip joint, the years of training and past injuries on ice were affected.
