Biography
Andy Whitfield is an Australian actor of Welsh origin, which has become famous for the whole world thanks to the role of Spartacus in the television series "Spartak: blood and sand." He also starred in the horror film "Clinic", melodrama "Mackeod daughter" and a mystical thriller "Angel of Light". The fans of the actor were shocked by his death, which lasted Whitfield just in the Zenith of His Glory. Interest in this person is not dried and many years after death, so a documentary film about him "be here and now" caused a wide resonance worldwide.
Andy Whitfield was born and grew up in Wales, in the town of Amluhe, which is considered the very northern settlement of this country and is located on the island of Anglesey. In Australia, Andy Whitfield continued to work as an engineer. But gradually he finds himself a new passion - photographing. Through this hobby, a young man falls into a modeling agency and tries himself as a fashion model. At about the same time, Andy begins to study at school of dramatic art, at the end of which begins to participate in auditions and castings, trying to achieve any role. Whitfield's path on Star Olympus was difficult and thorny, but in the end, a man proved that, regardless of age, origin and education, one can achieve his dream.

For the first time Andy Whitfield received a partly role in 2004. He appeared in the seventh series of the second season of the popular Australian television series "All Saints". Then there were secondary roles in other television projects - the Criminal Drama "Strip", a romantic comedy "to visit Rafters" and the melodrame "Daughter of the Macroeod".
In 2007, Andy Whitfield received his first major role in the Mystical militant Gabriel, which was demonstrated on Russian screens called "Angel of Light". Personal life
Still living in the UK, Andy Whitfield met for a long time with a girl named Terrik Smith. Later they got married and moved together to Australia. Their relationship could be called good, but only before Andy became interested in the actor profession. His wife did not support the fantastic, as she thought, the dreams and the fact that the husband is so much time and money pays to this hobby. After a while, Andy Whitfield led the divorce and again became a bachelor.
However, in this status, the man was not long. In Sydney, he met his long-fashioned acquaintance called Wash. They were still in his youth in youth tourist trips, and now they reached each other, feeling that they are halves of one whole. Andy Whitfield and his wife lived together for more than ten years and gave life to two children: the son of Jessie Radu and the daughter of Indigo Sky.
Disease and death
In the spring of 2010, Andy Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hadgkin lymphoma. He immediately began to undergo treatment in one of the leading clinics in New Zealand. It seemed that the disease retreated, as doctors reported at the beginning of summer. But after 12 weeks it became clear that the cancer came back. Andy again falls into the hospital and bravely fights the disease. He passed a long re-course of chemotherapy, which, to great regret, did not give results.
Andy Whitfield died on September 11, 2011 in Sydney, after 18 months of persistent struggle with lymphoma. The funeral was held in a very narrow circle of his loved ones. Relatives decided not to make public the burial place of the actor, so as not to turn the grave into the place of pilgrimage, so the date and place of the funeral remain unknown.
In memory of Andy Whitfield's actor, the documentary "be here and now" was shot. His shooting began during the lifetime of a man when it became clear that the disease returned. The fact of the picture was planned back in 2013, but as a result, he was first shown to the public in June 2015 in Los Angeles as part of the annual film festival of documentary films "Hot Springs".
