Alexey Yuryevich Hermann was born on July 20, 1938 in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). His parents - Tatiana Rittenberg and the famous Russian writer and Writer Yuri Herman. After the beginning of the war, his father went to serve in the fleet to the north of the country, the Polyarny town. Lesha, together with his mother, in the meantime, moved to Arkhangelsk. Yuri Herman served on the Guards Ship "Rading", which from time to time came to Arkhangelsk together with convoys from Murmansk.
After 1944, when the fracture happened in the war and the city stopped constantly bombing, the father decided to pick up a family with him to the polar. They returned to their native Leningrad a couple of months after the victory.
Soon Alexey developed tuberculosis, and therefore the father and his mother decided to take it out of town, in the village of Cellakha (later renamed Komarovo). The family settled in a small country house. The future director went to the third class of local school, rural children immediately revealed with him. At this time, Alexey passionately loved the books and began to collect his library.
Education
In 1948, the family returned to Leningrad. Alexey Hermann was in a lunion of boxing (he went to the section from the fifth grade), loved to visit the theater. Despite the love of art, the director then he did not think - he wanted to be a doctor. He went to the students from the Medchildren to the pair of anatomy, scored many profile books, but thanks to communicating with his father and his friends preferred medicine to the director's career.In 1960, Alexey graduated from the Leningrad Theater Institute (now he is known as the St. Petersburg Academy of Theatrical Art). He studied at the Directory Faculty under the leadership of Grigory Kozintsev. Career
In early 1964, Herman worked at the Studio "Lenfilm" Assistant to the main director in Kinolent "Workers' village" Vladimir Wengerova. 1980s

Life after the collapse of the USSR

Personal life
Alexey Hermann's wife - Kinodramaturg Svetlana Karmalit - gave birth to him the Son. He was also called Alexei. The son went in the footsteps of the Father, becoming a filmmaker and screenwriter. Its filmography includes paintings "Last Train" (2003), "Paper Soldiers" (2008), in which Chulpan Hamatov took part.In the last photos, Alexey Yuryevich looked very sick.
