The real name of the athlete - Mirko Filipovich. The future MMA fighter was born on September 10, 1974 in the city of Vinkovitsa, which in Croatia. From an early age, the boy began to be interested in sports, but at that time Croatia literally was ruined and destroyed because of the war. There was no conditions for full-fledged training, and Mirko did at home using the wall as a projectile.
Mirko's efforts were not in vain: in the youthful age, the athlete won around 40 victories in the amateur battles of kickboxers. And in 1996, a professional sports biography of Filipovich began.
In parallel with the workouts, Mirko Filipovich worked in the Croatian police, being a fighter of a special anti-terrorist unit. For this athlete and received a nickname Crocop that in translation from English means "Croatian Police" (Croatian COP). And although the first battles Mirko spent a tiger under the pseudonym, an athlete became famous for both crocop.

In 2000, Mirko decided to leave the service in the police and devote the lives of sports. This year is marked for him by victories over Remy Bonia and Mark Khanty, who considered world stars. The following years have become a series of knockout rivals, among which Fujitita, Igor Vacachenin, hit Herring, Dos Karas. The victories series became a pass for Mirko Filipovich to battle for the title of champion. Unfortunately, this peak athlete was not given - the current champion Antonio Nogailo defended his title.
In 2004, Mirko Krokop received a sudden knockout from Kevin Randlman, but at the end of the same year she was going with the forces and defeated Kevin. 2005 was marked by the victory of Mirko Filipovich over Alexander Emelyanenko. And a few months later, Mirko had already entered the ring against Fedor Emelyanenko to try to get the champion title again. But this time, luck turned away from the fighter, and the championship rank remained behind Fedor. The video of this battle was divided, perhaps on the collections of fans of martial arts.
The cherished title got Mirko Crocopa in 2006. The fighter managed to defeat Josh Barnett and Vanderlee Silva. And two years later, losing three battle in a row, Mirko Filipovich declared his intention to leave a sports career. To the joy of fans, the athlete still remained in MMA.
The next few years were granted quite even: victories alternated with defeats, but no one doubted in brilliant preparation. In 2011, Mirko, losing three battles in a row, will again announce what goes from sports. And again will remain, confirming your own skill of the victory over the Japanese Shinichi Suzukawa.
In the fall of 2013, MMA fans expected another fight in which Alexander Emelyanenko should become an opponent Mirko Filipovich. However, the Russian could not reach the ring due to the accusation of a pensioner attack. Therefore, to fight Mirko accounted for Alexey Oleinik. For Crocopa, the fight turned out to be failed.
The next couple of years proved to be very successful for Filipovich. Victory followed one after another. Satosha Ishia, Gabriel Gonzago - the list of defeated rivals has steadily increased. However, in the fall of 2015, the information about the care of Mirko Crocop from sports began to spread again. This time it happened, only not according to the athlete's own will, but by decision of the United States Anti-Doping Commission.
Despite the slope of the situation, Mirko Crocop found the strength to make a statement: the athlete admitted that he took the prohibited hormonal drugs to recover faster after the shoulder injury. The punishment for the fighter was temporary disqualification.
Already in the summer of 2016, the fighter returned to the ring and after a series of bright and spectacular victories received the title of the tournament champion Rizin FF, which took place in Japan.
Personal life
The personal life of the brutal crocop (the growth of the fighter - 1.88 m) is much more calm than the sports career. Mirko happily married. The chief of the athlete named Claudia presented a man of two sons; Ivan and Philip.
In addition to sports, Mirko is interested in the social life of the country. The fighter was even elected to the Croatian parliament, where he served for the benefit of the people from 2003 to 2007. Also Mirko tried forces on the set, appearing in the lead in the film "Higher Power" directed by Mark Berson.

Filipovich posted a battle announcement with Fedor Emelyanenko, allegedly scheduled for the current year. The public froze in anticipation of the spectacle, but soon it turned out that the confrontation of Mirko and Fedor should not be expected in the near future.
Crocop admitted that such an outcree was only an advertising move from his side. In addition, the athlete expressed confidence that Fyodor Emelianenko would not agree to such a fight. Mirko himself, according to his own words, is ready at any time to enter the ring with a long-time opponent.
Now Mirko Crocop is preparing to speak at the New Year's Rizin FF tournament in the Japanese city of Sitema. It is already known that the first rival of the fighter will be the Japanese named Tsuiusi Kosaka. In total, several fights are planned for the tournament title, whose owner is currently Mirko Crocop.
