The prototype of the current "earthlings" was created in 1969 in Leningrad students of the local technical school of radio electronics. At first, they performed a cover version of Western groups, and then introduced into the repertoire their own compositions. In 1978, the first musicians left the center where rehearsals were held, but the team administrator Andrei Bolshev remained. The organizer of another St. Petersburg group Vladimir Kiselev joined him to create a new ensemble on the basis of Earthlings.
