The future athlete was born on June 1, 1999 in the city of Ukhta, by nationality, Russian, ancestors from Azerbaijan. However, fate ordered otherwise: Vyacheslav Maximov, a friend of Aliyev family and figure skating coach, once invited the boy for a rink and showed a pair of simple ligaments and elements. Surprisingly, but the boy immediately managed to repeat several movements per coach. Since then, Dmitry, on its own confession, literally fell ill figure skating.

Until the age of 11, Dmitry Aliyev managed to combine both kinds of sports - skis and figure skating, but gradually loads and there, and there became more intense, and at some point the athlete had to make a choice. In 2012, Dmitry Aliyev has already participated in the festival called "Winter Okitsa". There on a young athlete drew Maxim Marinin, Olympic champion and a talented figure skater. He advised the parents of Dmitry to see the view from Alexey Mishina, the coach of Evgeny Plushenko.The young man managed to impress Mishina, and the famous mentor invited Dmitry to train in St. Petersburg. So, a year later, Aliyev moved to the Northern Capital and began to professionally train from the trainer Yevgeny Gleavitsyn.
Already in 2014, Dmitry adopted at the international championship among juniors, which was held in Slovenia. The next year, in the fall, Aliyev became the participant of the Grand Prix 2019/2020 in figure skating and won the first stage bronze.
