The future athlete was born in the city of Vrchlaby on December 9, 1988. Uncle Veroniki - Hendek Vitek - the famous coach of the Czech female biathlon team. Aunt Girls - Yana Shaldova-Suhardova is a talented skier who participated in the Olympic Games. Younger sisters Vitka also chose a sports path.
It is not surprising that in such a family Veronica from an early age joined great sport. At first, the girl was engaged in ski races, and at 10 years old became interested in biathlon, which became the main thing about her life.
In 2004, Vitkov entered the official structure of the junior team of the country, and in 2006 it became the first at the World Championships among his age group. Then I first spoke about the girl for the first time as a fellowship athlete.
Biathlon
Following the first victory, Silver was followed in persecution races (it is about the 2008 season - 2009), several medals of the European Championship - 2008, as well as gold relay in 2009. It is worth noting that the season 2008 - 2009 Girl spent already as part of the "adult" team. And it was according to his results, Veronica Vitkov first began to call the hope of Czech biathlon and the best athlete of the country.
Before the next season, Veronika Vitkov is seriously ill. The girl was diagnosed with meningitis. Fortunately, the treatment turned out to be successful, but athlete spent a long time without training. It did not slow down to affect the results: a speech at the Olympics in Canadian Vancouver turned out to be weak, and immediately after the Games Vitkov announced the early completion of the season.
But the next season started for Veronica quite successfully: biathlete won bronze in the mixed relay of the world championship. Following the results of this sports season, the athlete was on the 25th place in the overall standings.
It was not less bright and season 2012 - 2013. Thanks to the efforts of Vitka Vitka and her colleagues on the team, Gabriely Cowkalova, the Czech Republic received two silver medals in female and mixed relay. In addition, Veronica Vitkov brought the country to the bronze championship of the world (sporting event took place in the Czech city of the new place). The next stage, held in German Oberhof, brought the girl second place.
Season 2014 - 2015 is noted for Veronika by the twisting fourth place of the World Cup (in general standings), as well as a silver medal of the Sochi Olympiad (in a mixed relay). Unfortunately, next year, the girl failed to repeat his own success: In 2015 - 2016, the biathlete became only the 8th, and the year later dropped to the 25th position in the overall standings.
Fortunately, the failure band was temporary, and in 2018 the girl again proved that it is capable of much.
