Arnd Paiffer is a German biathlete, a permanent participant of international competitions, the winner of the Olympic Games in Korea, the five-time world champion. Arnd Payiffer was born on March 18, 1987 in the city of Wolfenbuttel, Germany, in the family of Annette and Carsten Paiffers (on other information, the father of the athlete name is Harry Berrm Payiffer). Do parents have a future athlete attitude towards Greek culture - it is unknown, but the son gave the name of Arnd, which translates from Greek as "dazzling lightning". The boy grow and justified the name of the name.
Attend sports training Arnd has become already in conscious age. The 10-year-old guy first visited the biathlon classes and fell in love with this sport. Parents remember that Arnd was growing thoughtful and serious child, and even adults consistent athletes could envy his dedication. At school, the boy also became one of the best students.
At 15 years, Arnd participated in school competitions and was already close to victory, when he noticed next to the track a freezing puppy. The young man who sacrificed sacrificed the victory for the sake of salvation of the animal, whom he cured and left himself, calling the dog lucky.
After graduating from the boarding school with a sports bias in the resort town of Claust Charlerfeld, located in the heart of Germany, the young man decided that, besides the sport, he should be seized another profession.
The first higher education is a young man at the Technical University of Claustal-Clerfeld, where he entered in 2006. As soon as the competition in the university, the young man went into academic leave to be able to give time to sports.
Later, having received a diploma of an economist, Arnd changed and decided to associate his life with the public order protection bodies, for which he entered the local police academy, having received the title of Anverter at the end of 2011. And now the main professional athlete considers the police service: this way the Arnd itself pointed out in the questionnaire on his official website.
Biathlon
The first experience of Arnd Paiffer International Competitions received in December 2007, when he finished the 15th European Cup in an individual race. In Langdorf-Arbersee, he reached another victory in the sprint in January 2008.
The highlight of the season for him was the world championship among young men in Ruhalding, where he won 2 bronze medals in the sprint, giving way to Anton Shipulin and Florian Count. At the end of the season, a young athlete whose height is 186 cm, and the weight is 82 kg, received a chance to perform in the European Cup in Cesaan-Sicario. In the competition, he entered the top ten, finishing the 9th in the sprint and 7th in the pursuit race.
In the 2008/2009 season, Paiffer became a member of the German national team and performed in an open European Cup (IBU Cup). Already on the first track in the idra, he ranked 4th in the sprint race and was able to celebrate his first victory.
The same result in Martell and 4th place in the subsequent persecution race provided him with temporary leadership in the overall IBU Cup in front of Daniel Bem.
In January 2009, Arnd made his debut as a member of the national team of Germany in the relay at a distance of 4 × 7.5 km in Oberhof at the World Cup. As the penultimate runner, he took the 3rd place by giving way to Michael decided. In his first speech at the World Championships in Pyonchhan, Paiffer spoke in a team with Andrea Henkel, Simonova Hauswald and Michael Greis in a mixed relay at a distance of 2 × 6 km + 2 × 7.5 km. This performance brought athletes from Germany a bronze medal.

In 2010, Arnd participated in the Olympiad held in Vancouver, where he finished the 37th in the sprint and the persecution race, the 17th in the race with the general start and 5th in the relay. The next season of the World Cup 2010/2011 Paiffer became one of the most consistent German starters. He gained glasses in every race, taking 2nd place in the sprint, and turned out to be in the fifth place in the overall standings after the 7th stage of the World Cup.
Arnd confirmed his form and at the beginning of the 2011 World Championship, which was held in the Russian Khanty-Mansiysk. Athlete from Germany repeated last year's achievement, but already in the sprint, again taking gold at the World Championships. In the national team in the mixed relay, in which the strongest biathletes of the current season of Andrea Henkel, Magdalena Neuner and Mikhael Greis, was ahead of Magdalen Neuner for 20 seconds.
2 days later Paiffer became the world champion in the sprint. With the second best mileage and only one error shooting, he was ahead of the Frenchman Marten Furcade and secured the first world title in the individual competition. In the persecution race, Arnd took only the 4th place.
The athlete has established itself as one of the strongest runners of the world-class and received the title of the best athlete of the year in Germany. At the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi, Paiffer won a silver medal in the relay at a 4 × 7.5 km distance.
Not all contests for the Ard ended well. For his career, he repeatedly received injuries during performances. So, completing the next Circle of Passyat in Presc-Isle during the persecution race at the 8th stage of the World Cup, the biathlonist crashed into a tree. Due to the fall, he could not continue the competition and was hospitalized with a concussion.
On the eve of the 2018 Olympics, Paiffer worked hard under the sensitive leadership of a personal trainer Mark Kirchner, and classes gave a brilliant result. At the Winter Olympics in Phenchhan Arnd noted complex weather conditions, but, given that the athlete from Europe loves cold and snow, for him it became an additional advantage.
On February 11, 2018, Paiffer won the Golden Olympic Medal in the sprint on 10 km, which was a surprise even for the athlete himself, according to him. This victory brought the first in his sports biography of the Biathlon Olympic Biathlon title.
World Championships in Ostersund in 2019 ended for Paiffer with several podiums. The athlete took 2 silver in the relay, and the individual race brought him a gold medal. At the same time, his colleagues in the women's team - Deniz Herrman and Laura Dalmayer, who replenished the piggy bank of Germany gold and 3 bronze medals. Personal life
Despite the employment of sports and study, Arnd has found time for personal life. Biathlonist is married, although the identity of the wife holds in secret: does not lay out family photos on the page in "Instagram" and other social networks, not posing for journalists. Paiffer himself at the end of the 2019/2020 season planned to leave the Great Sports. But as of health, he decided to continue his professional career. In an interview, Arnd noted that while he was satisfied with the results of the competition and is in excellent working form, which allows and to conquer places on the pedestals.
On February 10, 2021, the World Championship started in Slovenian Pokluk. Germany on the competition was presented 10 biathletes, 5 of which are included in the top 15 of the Public Cup of the World Cup.
