King and Jester is a punk rock band created in Leningrad in 1988. True, then it was called the "office". But the most basic one has already been - Mikhail Gorsthev, the creator, soloist and in the literal sense of the group's face, with a terrible make-up, leaving fear, but still easier to be recognizable.History of creation
In 1988, a student of any noticeable Leningrad school, Mikhail Pot Gorent and his classmates Alexander Lieutenant Schigolev and Alexander Ball Balunov decided to make music. The created team played punk rock, melodies and songs of songs corresponded to the chosen direction.
After a year, punk blocked the wave named Prince. Andrei Knyazeva Pot met in the restoration school. A new acquaintance wrote very peculiar texts. Each has been completed, albeit a small format. Scenes author borrowed from folklore, mythology, fantasy.
I liked the prince, as the music that is created by the group sounds, and the pot liked the poems of the prince. From that moment, their overall history of activity in the "Office" is counting.
The first team concerts took place in the club "there," then the guys have a platform in the "old house". Already then the group was popular with the public. The fans hunted the personal needs of musicians, and once from the club from the scene stole a backdrop.
The name "King and Jester" originated in 1990. Guys went through different ideas for a long time - "Skilled dandelion", "Armageddon", "Apocalypse", "King of Szitov". The last name with small variations was eventually accepted.
"Kish", as the fans have now become accustomed, in 1991-1992 they wrote tracks in the semi-professional studio. Then the guys first went on stage and participated in the radio.
In 1994, in small quantities, an album "Be as home, traveler" was released solely on audio cassettes. Related rarity among fans, it is not included in the canonical discography.
"King and Jester" "toured" only in the clubs of St. Petersburg, while in 1996 they did not take 30-minute transmission. Its not once twisted on the fifth channel. In 2000, a collection of the best works "Kish" - "Collection". From this time, the musicians become guests, and later and the chadliners of the Music Festival "invasion". In parallel with the creation of new songs and recording the albums, the King and Jester was concert and actively participated in Russian and foreign festivals and musical projects. In 2011-2012, two albums were released on the "TODD" zonc-opera - "Act 1. Blood Holiday" and "Act 2. on the edge". The story of Siini Todd for the project was voiced by Veniamin Stuchov. In the theatrical statement, the main party went to the author of the work of Mikhail Gorsdev.
Run with Mikhail Gorentov, "King and Jester" said goodbye to fans. The musicians of the group, not intending to disperse, organized a new company "Northern Fleet". In 2020, a monument to Mikhail Gorsereva in Voronezh was renovated. Liquid marble was used as a material for the manufacture of monument.
