The biography of the coach originates in the small Belarusian town of Khoyniki on June 10, 1977. Father, an ardent fan of football, addicted his son to the game. Before doing sports, Victor went well at school, but soon a new passion began to take strength and time.
In training in the local Dusshor and in the courtyard with the ball, he began to spend much more time than learning school items. Already in childhood, the boy showed the quality of the leader and commanded the peers on the field.
Unfortunately, the native city of the young football player was partially in the zone of the defeat after the terrible Chernobyl accident. Father worked by the liquidator of the consequences of the catastrophe, which could not not affect the state of the health of the man - in 1993 he did not.
After the death of his father, Victor moved to the capital of Belarus, where he joined the team of sports school Ruor under the mentoring of Alexander Vergechiki and Yuri Pyshnik. There, in Minsk, lived in the boarding school for young athletes.
The young man held 2 years old, from 1995 to 1997, and in 1998 he moved to BATE.

The sensational victory of the Belorus over the legendary Bavaria with a score of 3: 1 in the native field in Minsk in 2012 became the team and coach triumph. The deafening success of the Mentor of the Belarusian Club immediately caused the interest of Russian teams. More than once in the press, rumors came about the transition of Viktor to the coaching team "Kuban", "Lokomotiv", CSKA. Nevertheless, Goncharenko remained faithful BATE.
In 2013, he still left the Belarusian FC and became the head coach of Krasnodar "Kuban", concluding a contract for 4.5 years. Despite the successful start of the season, bringing victory to the club, in 2014 the leadership of the Krasnodar took an unexpected decision to dismiss Victor.
The press is called an ambiguous reason for the excessive softness of the coach. The fans indulged, but it did not change anything, and Belarus abandoned the "Kuban". However, a talented man did not stay without work for a long time. In the summer of 2015, Goncharenko took over the position of head coach of Urals. True, the cooperation also did not work out, and in September the parties were terminated by the contract for the mutual agreement.
In the same month, the mentor fell into CSKA headquarters, in the team of Leonid Slutsky. Being a senior coach of one of the best clubs in Russia, he wanted independence and development. Therefore, in 2016, leaving CSKA, Goncharenko became the main thing in the preparation of football players of FC Ufa.
At the end of 2016, Victor returned to the post of head coach CSKA, changed Slutsky's head coach.
