Evgeny Matveyev was born in the village of Novoukrainka on March 8, 1922. The actor's mother was a peasant, and grandfather on the mother line - church old-age. The father of the actor, Semyon Matveyev, was an educated person, a communist in conviction, threw a family when his son was four years old.
The future actor moved with his mother in Vinogradovo village and there to be taken out, trading on the road watermelons in childhood. Young Eugene spent money to buy a balalaika. Two of them many later entered the film "Love earth", which Evgeny Matveyev took off as a director.
The boy studied well, and the mother sent him to receive education in the city of Tsyurupinsk, which is now called Aleshka. During the ninth grade, Evgeny left school and went to Kherson, where there was a real professional theater. There, the young man began with small roles and participation in mass scenes.
In one play, where Eugene played the role of a musician, I noticed by the actor Nikolai Cherkasov. On the advice of Cherkasov, Yevgeny Matveyev went to study in Kiev. The actor was engaged in the school of actors at the Kiev film studio. After World War II, he worked in different theaters and eventually found himself in Moscow, where he began to work by the director and film.

Films
In 1963, Matveyev played in a melodraman "Native Blood" in a pair with actress Vii Artman. Evgeny performed in this film the role of Vladimir - Tankist, and then the senior mechanic on the steamer. The hero meets the ferry of Sonya, played by Artman. Between the characters begins the novel, who ends with the death of Sony, after which Vladimir has to face a beloved former husband.
In the second half of the 60s, the film "Gypsy" - about Bulaway Romanov, who participated in the Second World War, was an intelligence officer, and after the war, it was on the Don farm, where the son finds. Evgeny Matveyev spoke here as director and artist leadership at the same time.
In 1974, the film "Love earth" was released, where Matveyev was again the director, and the executor of the leading role - Zakhar Derugina. This is a elderly chairman of the collective farm, a family man and father of four sons, which suddenly falls in love with the young fellow village of Mana (Her role is performed by Olga Ostrumov).
Three years later, the continuation of this film was published, the melodrama "Fate", where Zakhar Derryhin, the hero of Matveyev, is captured during the Great Patriotic War. Later, the hero escapes from captivity, it turns out in the ranks of the partisan and saves his own village from German soldiers, who just prepared to hold a punitive action there.
Evgeny Matveyev also played the role of the Don Cossack and the leader of the Peasant War of Emelyan Pugachev in the same historical dilogy of Director Alexei Saltykov. Here, the actor again happened to play in a pair with Vii Artman, who performed the role of Empress Catherine the second. The film was released in 1978.
In 1984, a two-versed drama "Victory" was published, the main characters of which are two military correspondents, with the Soviet and from the American side, which first meet at the Potsdam Conference in 1945, and then, in thirty years, at the meeting of representatives of European countries in Helsinki.

In the 90s, Evgeny Matveyev released the dramatic trilogy "to love in Russian" on the screens, where he again performed and the main role. Hero Valerian Mukhin moves to the village and becomes a farmer. In the past, Mukhin was a major party leader, now leaves his wife, turns a novel with a farm, meets new people and is going to rejuvenate life again. Along the way, heroes have to deal with local criminal authority.
The last work of Evgeny Matveyev in the film was the role of the Secretary General of the Central Committee of the CPSU Leonid Brezhnev in the six-party melodrame "under the Polar Star", which was released in 2001. Personal life
The actor was married to Lydia Alekseevna Matveyeva, who met in 1947. Spouses were married fifty-six years old. The wife gave birth to Eugene two children - Son and Daughter, and later the actor appeared three grandchildren. With his wife, the actor met in Novosibirsk, and then the young spouses moved together to Moscow, where Eugene began to work in MDT. In the family, by the time the daughter was already born, and the head of the theater promised to allocate a young family of living space.
First, the Matveev family lived in the hotel, and then moved to a communal apartment, and the youngest son Andrei was born there. The actor's wife was also a man of a creative profession, she graduated from the vocal and the Kamerester Faculty and in the end sang in the choir. A serious creative career of Lydia had to sacrifice to provide a family at the time while his husband was built.
Death
