Childhood and youth

Evgeny Matveyev was born in the village of Novoukrainka on March 8, 1922. The actor's mother was a peasant, and grandfather on the mother line - church old-age. The father of the actor, Semyon Matveyev, was an educated person, a communist in conviction, threw a family when his son was four years old.

The actor was married to Lydia Alekseevna Matveyeva, who met in 1947. Spouses were married fifty-six years old.
