The future guru of foreign languages was born in Novomoskovsk (which in the Tula region) on July 16, 1958. From early childhood, a little Dmitry surrounded a foreign speech: Grandma Petrov read the grandchildren of a fairy tale in European languages, the father professionally translated from Italian, Mom worked as a German teacher. Dmitry's parents even met the dormitory of the University of Foreign Languages.
So Dmitry has already received clear ideas about the structure of different languages, and from the fifth grade began to seriously learn English and German. However, this seemed to be an inquisitive teenager, Dmitry began to engage in an additionally and already by the end of the school he was fluent in English, German, Italian and French. Successes in the last two languages, a young man has achieved independent classes.
The choice of further profession seemed obvious: immediately after school, Dmitry Petrov entered the Institute of Foreign Languages in Moscow (now it is MGLU).
Career
After graduating from the institute, Dmitry began his career from work as a teacher. Already at that time, a young specialist had an idea of how it is easier to understand the structure of a foreign language and in the shortest possible time to speak on it. Gradually, Petrov honed his own technique, in parallel studying new languages and adverbs.
Mastered Petrov and synchronous translation. According to the polyglot, the profession of synchronist is one of the most difficult in the field of foreign languages. Here the translator requires impeccable knowledge of language, and an instantaneous reaction, stress resistance and, of course, a serious level of general erudition. Later, Dmitry shared some details of such work, as well as curious cases in the book "The Magic of the Word", which he wrote with a friend, Journalist Vadim Boreyko.
In synchronous translation, Dmitry has achieved serious success. The polyglot was recognized as one of the best specialists in Russia, he was constantly invited to work at the highest level meetings. As Petrov confessed in an interview, he managed to work with Mikhail Gorbachev, Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Putin and other politicians and public figures.
Soon Dmitry Petrov opened his own school of foreign languages, called the center of innovative and communicative linguistics. In the walls of this school, Petrov managed that it used to be impossible: the disciples began to speak in the selected language in the first lesson, and only 16 lessons calmly supported everyday conversations with native speakers.
In 2012, a new project of Dmitry Petrov was started on the TV channel "Culture" - the English for 16 hours program. All 16 lessons conducted by the polyglot allowed millions of viewers in their own example, to see: the study of a foreign language is simple, fascinating and most importantly - effective.
The example of the participants of this non-standard realistic show really motivates: 8 people who do not speak English, in the first lesson began to communicate with each other and Dmitry, and by the end of the transmission cycle already confidently discussed serious topics in a foreign language.
The participants of the show became popular personalities. So, in the first season, the actor Vladimir Epifantsev, writer Oleg Shishkin, actress, took the first season. And in the second season, dedicated to the Italian language, the audience saw the director Valery Gai Germanic, singer Nastya Zadorozhnaya, actress Anna Star'shenbaum and other public characters. For several years, the audience "Polyglot" managed to get acquainted with French, Spanish, German, as well as Chinese and Hindi.
Petrov himself to the question "How many languages do you know?" answers with a smile. According to the polyglot, "know" even native language is completely impossible: the layers of narrow-professional vocabulary will always be left, not familiar to the inhabitant. But you can easily maintain a conversation on the household level, to understand others and convey your own thoughts.

Personal life
Dmitry Petrova's personal life was happily. With the future wife, Polyglot met in the hostel of the Institute named after Moris Torez. Anamika Saxen, Indian beauty, arrived in Moscow to learn Russian and culture, Dmitry at that time already taught. Soon the young people got married, and after a while, the Anamika gave her husband to her firstborn - the son of Demyan.
At first, Dmitry with the replenished family had to join the hostel of the same institute, but three years later managed to buy his own apartment. In total, Dmitry and Anamika, three children, younger - Ilis and Arina. The eldest went to the footsteps of his parents and tied a biography with foreign languages. But the younger chose another path - Iliavan entered the Academy of National Economy, and the daughter of Arina decided to become a physician.

Now Dmitry Petrov continues to lecture, talking about his own method of learning foreign languages. In addition, the Polyglot together with the assistants teaches in its center, helping people to master an in-eyed speech.
