The biography of the group "New Gems" begins in the spring of 2006. As part of the celebration of the 35-year-old anniversary of VIA "Gems" Inna Malikova and the soloist of musicals Alexander Postolenko sang the song "Dawn, Sunset". The performance was so liked by Yuri Malikov, that there was an idea to create a team, which will continue the path of popular in Soviet times "Gems".
