Yuri Malikov was born in the midst of the military events of the Second World War - on July 6, 1943 on the farm Chebolovka Tarasovsky district of the Rostov region.
The childhood of the boy passed under the impression of Military Stories of Father Fedor Mikhailovich, who returned from the front with a serious injury. And the father taught his son to play the harmonica, with whom the war was held. These lessons then helped the boy to master the game on the accordion.
In 1954, the Malikov family moved to live near Moscow. In the new school, Yura organized the accordion trio, the guys participated in all school events. And in the Podolsk industrial technical school, where Malikov came after school, he was again in the center of artistic amateur time, only this time he plays in the spirit of the orchestra.
The young man has mastered the game on many instruments, but true love tied him with a double bass. Malikov first saw the instrument in the film "Serenade of the Solar Valley" and was impossible to fall in love with his sound. Having persuaded the leadership of the Technikumov club to buy a double bass, Jura specially signed up in the evening music school to master the sacrament of the game.
Once the symphony orchestra from the Moscow Regional Philharmonic arrived in Podolsk. And the counter battles of the team Vladimir Mikhalev saw on a speech in a young colleague Park on a musical instrument. After acquaintance, Mikhalev invited Malikov to Moscow, left the phone number.

Music
Malikov's professional musical career began with work in Moskoncert as part of the instrumental ensemble of the singer Emil Gorovets. At the end of the Conservatory in 1969 continued to work with various teams of "Moskoncert". Already then, on the Soviet stage, the first VIA began to be created, groups of musicians who sing not under the orchestra accompaniment, as it was before, and under their own game on electrical instruments.
Then the idea arose to organize an ensemble that would play the music of a new genre and format. The final decision was matured after a trip to Japan in 1970. Yuri Malikov worked there for 8 months, played in the pop team. The musician earned money spent on the purchase of equipment and tools, and on arrival in Moscow immediately announced listening to the set in the ensemble.
In 1971, the whole country was already knew about the new VIA "Gem Communications" thanks to the His Hangs "I will take you to Tundra" and "I will go, I will come out," which sounded on the air of the All-Union Radio. And in 1972 the team presented the country on the festival festival in Dresden.
The songs of "Gems" quickly won the love of the listener - the simple and kind poems were taken for the soul, and the rhythmic melodies wanted to hum in the endless. Before these young and stylish guys, no one assumed that a patriotic or folk song could become a hat and be picked up literally each - from Mala to Great.
The composition of the soloists of Malikov picked up carefully, every time paying attention to new talents: in the nubility, in amateur time, on tour, even in a restaurant. So Yuriy Fedorovich opened a lot of new names. In "Gems", Vyacheslav Dobrynin, Alexey Gllyzin, Vladimir Vinokur, Vladimir Kuzmin and other performers began to sing.
The peak of the group's creativity fell in the mid-70s. Songs for "gems" are written by Matters of Soviet pop: poets - Leonid Derbenev, Mikhail Danzkovsky, Robert Christmas, composers - Edward Khanok, Mark Fradkin, Vladimir Shainsky, David Tukhmanov and others.
Malikov and his via are touring around the union, collecting palaces and stadiums. "Gems" led by a permanent leader Yuri Malikov again united to give the creativity to devotees and new fans.
Personal life
With the future wife of Lyudmila Vyunkova Yury Fedorovich met in 1969. A young musician just started working in Moskoncert when he accidentally wandered into the Hermitage Garden and saw a charming Music Hall dancer. On the first evening, Malikov spent Lyudmila home, and the couple was no longer parted for a long time.
After a few months they played a wedding, in 1970 the firstborn Dmitry was born, and in 1977 - the daughter of Inna. Today, the big and friendly family of Malikov is the famous musical dynasty.

Today, Yuriy Fedorovich leads a healthy lifestyle, after in 2006 it had to go through operational treatment in Germany. In 2018, a documentary biographical film about Yuri Malikov "Gems of His Life" was filmed to the 75th anniversary of the artist.
