Pink Floyd members are associated with early childhood. Roger Waters, LED Barrett and David Gilmore studied in neighboring schools in Cambridge. In Westminster University, at the Architectural Faculty, Waters met Nick Mason and Richard Wright. It took several decades to understand: together they are the composition in the future of the legendary group.
The first who united was Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Richard Wright. Together with fellow students in 1963, they created the SIGMA group 6. They played the searchers and songs composed by Ken Chapmen - the collective manager. The main public was students at closed parties.
Autumn of the same year presented Sigma 6 at once two gifted musicians - instead of Mason to the apartment, Guitarist Bob Clowz moved to Waters, and then London visited LED Barrett. Since 1964, when the group was renamed to TEA SET (or T-SET), adolescents began to live threesome and rehearse for days.
Later it turned out that the team under the name TEA SET already exists. So appeared The Pink Floyd Sound. The new name has developed from the names of two bluesmen - Anderson Pink and Floyd Cooncila. The idea belonged to Sid Barrett.
At the end of 1964, Floyda first found themselves at the recording studio and created four compositions. Musicians often performed in bars, where Peter Jenner once noticed. It was admired by acoustic effects and experimental sound.
Jenner decided to help the group spin and arranged a couple of concerts in thematic establishments for the general public. He recommended to remove the word Sound and Artictle the name. So for the first time he called Pink Floyd.
Music
In January 1967, Floyda unexpectedly became popular. They released the single Arnold Layne, which instantly took the leading lines in charts. The work written in the genre of psychedelic rock is still included in the list of "50 best British songs in history" according to Mojo magazine. The same edition put the track on the 56th place in the list "100 records changed the world."Pink Floyd consider psychedelic progenitor as a genre of music, and the debut plate The Piper at the Gates of Down, which was released in August 1967, became its standard. The first album of the group took the sixth place in the British charts.
The success of the success was not all the teeth. Leader Pink Floyd, the author of most LED songs Barrett began taking drugs. Together with alcohol and exhausting tour, they made a musician unbearable and mentally unstable. In January 1968, guitarist David Gilmor took instead of him in the group.
Initially, it was planned that Barrett, having passed the course of therapy, would return to creativity and continue to write tracks for the team, but in April he finally left the composition of "Floyd". The loss of the musical inspirer did not break the Pink Floyd. Atom Heart Mother's album exceeded the musicians' expectations and flew to the first line of the British chart. The track list called the stage of child development: Father's Shout ("Father's Creek"), Breast Milky ("Breast-milk"), Mother Fore ("Mother's Front Plan"), etc. To record this "History", the group took assisted Choir and symphony orchestra.
Music "Floyd" is a full-fledged artwork, decent places in classical discography. For example, a tool play, many suite and echoes - a 23-minute "epic sound poem", as its Waters called, were included in the 1971 album. All four Pink Floyd members put her creation to her creation. 1973 became a triumphant: The Dark Side of The Moon album came out. According to the idea of Waters, the compositions were to unite the general theme. In 1975, the Wish You Were Here disc came out dedicated to Cyda Barrett. Former member of the group, as if felt this, once appeared in the studio to Floydam during recording. At first, none of the friends did not recognize him: he scored heavily in the weight, he chose his head and his eyebrows. When the musicians understood who in front of them, then literally lost the gift of speech - so Barrett dismissed and frozen.
In the photo taken on that day, it is clear that the man is mad and lost. From that appearance at the studio, none of the group has no longer met with Sidel until the funeral in 2006. Rock Opera The Wall, written in 1979, became a cult. Now youth familiar with Pink Floyd predominantly on this album and the Another Brick In The Wall, Part II, telling about the problems of education.
The "wall" tells the story of Pink Floyd (at the birth of Floyd Pinketon), which from birth bricks behind the brick erected among himself and society a thick wall. In 2005, four "Floyd", forgetting differences, gathered to play Live 8 show dedicated to the fight against poverty. The group was offered 150 million pounds for touring the United States, but the participants refused and returned to solo projects.
On his anniversary in 2015, they reprinted some collections and albums. In August of the same year, David Gilmore officially announced the dissolution of Pink Floyd.

Roger Waters in 2017 released an album Is This the Life We Really Want? He climbed the third line in the UK. In 2018, the musician declared its intention to make a farewell tour from the US + Them show.
