Victor was born in the summer of 1930 in Moscow and children's years spent in the capital. Mother of the boy, Anna Ivanovna, worked in a blacksmith shop, and Father Vasily Prokhorovich worked at the Secret Military Plant. In 1941, a man called for war, and in a year he died.
Mother alone raised two sons, because his father died when Viktor was 12 years old. Already at that time, the future athlete was fond of hockey, but then it was only the yard games that the boy loved and every year I was looking forward to the arrival of the winter, to come back with friends and play a favorite game.
War years were gathered hard for everyone, did not exception and the Tikhon family. Because of the war, the boy left school. At the age of 12 goes to work, then he worked as a mechanic in the bus fleet. For a whole year after the death of his father, he helped the family. At 13, Victor began to attend school lessons again. After graduating from school, in 1948, the young man began to serve in the army.
Hockey
The first sports achievements in the biography of the hockey player appear since its receipt of the USSR armed forces. With the passage of service in the army, he first participated in professional competitions, and the first sports team in Tikhonov Victor's career was MVO's Air Force.
In the team of the Military Air Forces of the Moscow Military District Tikhonov held 4 full seasons, during which 3 times became the champion of the Soviet Union. During the games, a man tried himself in different positions, but with each game the best results showed as a defender.

For a couple of years of collaboration, he brought the club to the highest division and helped to raise the team 4th place in the Championship of the Soviet Union. This achievement is still the most impressive in the history of the Riga Dynamo.
In 1977, Victor returns to Moscow, where he was appointed by the USSR national hockey team coach. At the same time, the man will persuade the head of the CSKA team, which Evgeny Babich, Anatoly Tarasov, Konstantin Locks coached in different years.
The man refused the proposal, because he believed that he had no right to take the place of Konstantin Loktev, because he brought the team to victory in the championship. However, after a conversation with Andropov Tikhonov, agrees and accepts the Army Club.

By 2003, several coaches have changed from the national team, but none of them managed to bring the team from the crisis. At the same time, Tikhonov again offered to lead the team, and, despite the age (73 years), a man agreed. During the sports career, Viktor Vasilyevich has not yet received awards. For sports achievements, a man was handed the Order of the October Revolution, the Order of Lenin, the Order of Honor, and in 2010 the former coach received from Dmitry Medvedev, who at that time was the President of Russia, the Order of Friendship.
Personal life
The personal life of the sports coach has developed successfully. In 1953, when a man was 23 years old, Tatyana Vasilyevna became his wife. Long period The woman worked as a lawyer, she always wanted children and, despite the permanent employment of her husband, was near the last days.
The couple had one son, which was called Vasily. Since the boy grew in the family of an avid athlete, he also loved hockey and stood on ice with a key and washer. Already in adulthood, a man played hockey for a long time, and later he worked as a coach in Russia and Finland. As a result of an accident in 2013, a man died.
Vasily was the only child of Tikhonov, and after his loss, his father could not come to himself for a long time. The grandchildren of Tatiana and Victor became Otrada for men. By the way, Viktor Vasilyevich's grandson, his full namesake, also became an excellent hockey player. To avoid confusion, in the sports environment he is called Viktor Tikhonov-younger.
Today, a young man performs in the club KHL SKA as a central striker. In 2014, the young man performed in the Russian national team, he was recognized as the best scorer of the world championship.
Death
The last years of his life Victor was sick. The first messages about the worsening of the man's health appeared in the press in October 2014. A month later, it became known that he fell into intensive care, the doctors fought for his life, but it did not succeed.
